Auto-Recovery files not saving on Mac

The last auto-recovery file I see in the AutoSaves folder is from well over an hour ago. I saw “Auto-recovery file saved” many times before Studio crashed, the latest of them mere minutes before. The game is far under the file size limit and my settings clearly show an interval of 5 minutes:

Tried going down the Script Recovery route but no such thing exists in my Studio nor files

This same thing has happened to me so many times within the past few months

Expected behavior

I expect to be able to open the latest Auto-Recovery file Studio generated

Apparently they changed the autosaves location a few months back.

Just to make sure you’re checking the right place, you can use the Open Auto Saves button in the File menu to open your autosaves directory.

Same thing happened to me today. I get the “auto-recovery file was created” message every 5 minutes for many hours but the last autosave is from months ago. Studio crashed and now i lost my progress.

I’m on MacOS too

Sadly, this is for Windows, not Mac

Really sorry about that; we need definitely need a fix for this

I have to save my game before every playtest or complex operation in fears that a rogue crash may render my work nonexistent

Needing to save a game every few minutes when the output shows a recovery file saving every 5 minutes is unnecessarily trivial

Hi! Sorry to hear what happened. Are you editing a place on team create mode or from local place file when this happened?

I understand it happens sporadically, but next time it happens, would you be able to forward me the studio log? that would be very helpful. We are also looking from our side. Thanks.

Hi,

On Mac it will be similar (you can find that option under File menu, and in general that path should be /Users/your-username/Library/Application\ Support/Roblox/RobloxStudio/AutoSaves/Place_AutoRecovery_0.rbxl)

Also at the moment we cannot reproduce this issue on Mac. Could you double check to see if the issue persist for you. It would be helpful if you could provide some reliable Step to Reproduce and log if you still experience this issue.

Thanks
