"Automatic Chat Translation" and "Option to View Untranslated Message" settings keep defaulting to "Off" if you join a game with Legacy Chat

The settings in the in-game main Roblox menu “Automatic Chat Translation” and “Option to View Untranslated Message” get turned off if you join a game that still has legacy chat enabled, and stay off even if you join a game with TextChatService’s auto translation enabled.

Steps:

1. Join a game with AutoTranslation enabled for the TextChat and turn on “Automatic Chat Translation” and “Option to View Untranslated Message” in the in-game settings.
2. Join a game that does not have AutoTranslation enabled. These settings get forced off.
3. Rejoin a game with AutoTranslation enabled. The settings are still off and you have to manually turn them on again every time.

(This has been tested on the desktop application launched from the browser website)

Expected behavior

I expect the “Automatic Chat Translation” and “Option to View Untranslated Message” to stay on permanently when I turn them on.

Thanks, have been experiencing this for so long and had no clue what was causing it. Really love this feature so would be good to have it fixed

I think that once TextChatService is required on April 30, these two settings should be turned back on for everyone and they can choose to permanently turn it off if they prefer it. A lot of people don’t have auto translate on because it keeps turning itself off.
