Having a way to promote someone to a certain rank in-game would be very useful if you are trying to make some sort of application system in game that automatically promotes someone if they pass the application or if someone is hosting an event where players can earn promotions without the host going onto the Roblox website and promoting a certain user manually.
Having some sort of function that promotes a certain user in-game would not mean having to go through the tedious process of using HTTP service and some host that uses a bot account to promote that user on Roblox.
Would be nice if for each group place we can decide whether this feature is enabled, like SavePlace API.
Combined with a “can promote/demote to/from max(/min?) this rank”, this would be a nice feature. (all those options to prevent most abuse, mostly locking high(er) ranks)
I’m fairly sure this was planned a few years ago. I remember hearing it on a BloxCast or something like that. Not sure why it hasn’t materialised because it would be pretty useful.
But this feature really should be added.
