Automation ~ an AI based hide and seek game!

I have been working on Automation since March, as I stated in the title, it is a hide and seek game.
Here is a prototype version of the character:
Automation
Automation’s eyesight works like a robot vacuum, it uses raycasts to constantly scan around him for players. If he sees you, you’re found!

If you have any suggestions please leave them as a comment, I am open to new ideas!

What do you think the maximum sight “range” should be on the Automation? Comment your answer (in studs) below!

(Thanks to @IProgramForFun for keeping me inspired to work on this game)

Well, yes: Could you make a short video that shows how it works? And, maybe it even could learn from his mistakes (but this is machine learning, it‘s too complicated). Anyways, I am curious to see how it works in-game, so a small video or a link to a game would be awesome! I can‘t wait to see it in action!

The scanning system is still a work in progress, I will provide a video as soon as I am finished.

I am assuming you are using some sort of neural networking for the machine learning?

What I meant by robot vacuum is that he uses raycasting like laser scanning to find objects in the room, then it checks if it is a player there is no machine learning.

Oh, but that’s still very interesting. I would love to see it when the game comes out. :grinning:

Thanks, I will keep machine learning in mind.

This is cool! Cant wait for the game to get released! It looks good to play!

So I’m not sure what you are asking for here on your post, whether it is how the avatar looks or something else. I would recommend you set aside time to get something done with the current avatar for the seeker. If it is another issue not regarding building or modeling, then I can’t help otherwise. Thanks for your opinion, that is what I was asking about.

I just finished the raycast sight system and I am now recording the video.

Question: Should the game be more of a hide and go seek style or a hide and seek? The difference would be that the automation would have to touch you in order for you to get attacked rather than just seeing you.
