Autoplay Games (Roblox)

I want roblox to use autoplay again, its very useful when you actually create some sort of environment for it offsite. It could link to the game and have it play automatically when users have the roblox application. Wouldn’t be very hard to make an autoplay feature and would allow me to make a play button send them to the link of roblox game and have them play the game without needing to click the roblox play button.

Example:
🍕Work at a Pizza Place - Roblox

I would love to be able to link my players straight to the game.

For years I’ve thought this would be a great way to bring players into Roblox. Without linking to the Roblox website people would in many circumstances be more willing to show Roblox to other potential developers, friends, or for use in school projects or demonstrations.

Seems like a very simple feature that could help a lot of people.

FYI though there is one way to do this, if you can create a VIP server, you can generate a link that leads directly into the VIP server without clicking play.

I think you have a small but noteworthy oversight @Emporerj: the ROBLOX client has to be downloaded. What would you do if you clicked on a link from an article or wherever your place was linked, you went to this website you know nothing about, and immediately it started trying to install something on your computer? This behavior is typically exhibited by malware and viruses, so anyone visiting your place through the autoplay link would immediately leave in an attempt to keep their computer safe.

The best way to get users who’ve never played ROBLOX before to play your game is to link to your game without autoplay. The play button is visible enough that they’ll figure out how to play the game, and they’ll know exactly what is being installed on their computer and why.

Well, most likely I’d be going to the link expecting the game, and therefore a download would not be too surprising. Perhaps it would be up to the article writer to explain that it’s a download link?

I’ve had many friends/associates leave the Roblox website simply because of how childish it’s designed to be (improved recently I suppose). I have a hard time getting people to take my games seriously simply because the Roblox website is designed for children.

Roblox could make a very simple prompt stating that you must install roblox player to play the game, after they are done installing it can send them straight into the game. Its very simple. Also developers could create a prompt even if Roblox didn’t want to create their own, on their own site.

It would bring more people to Roblox and allow other websites to support Roblox more by showcasing a Roblox game and having a play button which would take them right into the action.

Example of why I want the this feature

Where are you getting those pics from?

Which picture are you referring to? The game icons or the actual screenshot?

It’s still quite possible, although you’ll require some non-roblox website to interact with ROBLOX’s custom protocol. And the fact that players will join as guests.

While not as reassuring, having the “Play game” button’s text be “Download game client” if you don’t have ROBLOX installed would be pretty neat - how it’ll be done is another problem, though.

You’re going to need to rethink your design. Nobody is going to click a “Buy” button without first learning what the game is first – they’re going to want to go to Left 4 Dead’s steam page for instance to make a decision.

Yeah that’s why you also have the option to click the box.

The buy button doesn’t just take you to checkout it takes you to a page with a list of reviews, prices, and information about the game.

Thanks for this at least I know its sorta possible on desktop. I do still wish for Roblox to implement autplay still but I feel this will come in handy.
