Avatar item creation has been revoked for a 4th time

Hello, I have uploaded several dozen layered clothing costumes. They have been continually flagged for “Spam” and removed. Each time another batch was removed I temporarily lost access to uploading accessories. First it was for a couple days, then for a week, then 2 week, and now presumably it wont be reinstated for 6 months.

Please help me get my access reinstated sooner. I took everything off sale a couple weeks ago. I have even request support to remove items already but they took too long. I would happily have every accessory archived and start over, but I can’t in time!

All of the items were flagged as “Spam”. None of them were removed for DMCA.

I went through support the last time this happened and ultimately this was their response. Information was explicitly not given.

You haven’t addressed why they thought it was spam though. You know the definition of spam and so do we, but what caused the moderation bot to flag your items?

Were they very similar items visually, were the thumbnails identical, or were the item names very similar? That could be considered spamming items.

Did you upload them, get them revoked and after the 2 days post them again, they got revoked, you waited the week and immediately uploaded again, and so on? That may be their definition of spam.

What started this issue was a series of bear costumes I made. They were all uploaded for free. I paid the upload fee and the publishing fee for almost all of them. Many were even uploaded to other peoples groups as a favor. I wanted to create a collab series for X users like many people in that community have. I wanted to give back. They are all considerably distinct and all had their own names. Most were only 5-10 quantity and all were free.

I just had the same thing happen to me, I was also moderated for “spam” and banned for a day. I use an alt to upload because of how spotty roblox’s moderation is (case in point), that was the only thing I did on the account. My guess is it’s because I uploaded a lot of similar models at once/in quick succession but that is insane if that’s the true reason. Like you, I uploaded many different textures of the same mesh (mine was different hair colors) and they removed 4 or 5 of them and banned my account. The ban expired a day or 2 ago now but I’m still unable to publish or create items on any of my ID verified accounts other than my main for some reason (My best guess is because it’s fully verified and has devex’d before?).

I also reached out to support, they gave me a similar email saying that it will be restored at some time (gave no indication of when) and sent me on my way. They also denied the appeal for spam which makes no sense, how are you supposed to create varieties of an asset if that’s considered spam? Roblox has no system in place to upload multiple textures/variations of an asset, and it’s not like we’re overloading roblox’s servers maliciously, they’re getting basically $10 per asset. It’s insane, I totally understand your frustration. I hope you can get it figured out, hopefully mine is only a couple days like your initial one but who knows. I didn’t even know this was possible, I figured they’d just ban the account and that’d be the end of it.

This was the same result of my effort to plead to support. They simply said they were unable to accept this submission as it is spam. After asking how long I will be banned for, they couldn’t say.

I don’t mind if the accessories are removed. I won’t ever reupload them. The submission isn’t the issue, it’s my entire access at stake.

Worst of all is I think the reason a lot of these were removed was due to the layered clothing vulnerability that causes avatars to grow so big they fill the entire screen. I didn’t and still don’t understand how this glitch works and never intended to exploit it.

It’s possible that was the reason but, did you upload all these within a short timespan? I believe for some stupid reason Roblox considers that spam and takes action. I think that’s more likely the issue, but I still don’t know how to address this issue from our side. Roblox just gives us the runaround with copy + paste responses and refuses to even tell us what we did wrong or when we can expect our access back (if at all). I also received the same exact response back with no information provided.

I assume they’re referring to the 2nd bullet and more specifically those last few words, but this is outrageous. That’s meant to moderate people trying to game the system or overload roblox’s servers, we’re actively paying for our uploads and they’re all unique. Of course the couple thousand robux is a lot less of an issue compared to not being able to upload. However, it’s still utterly insane they use this rule against UGC creators when each item is unique and they have no system in place to upload multiple textures/variations of an asset at once instead of mass-creating assets.

If you do manage to get your access back, I’d stick to maybe 5 uploads a day, just to be safe. I never had a problem when I staggered my uploads. Only once I uploaded 10 or so different colors and designs of an asset is when they decided to moderate me but, you might have a better understanding of their moderation.

I did upload/publish them in quick succession. I wanted to give everyone possible a chance to collaborate with me. I even paid for premium for an alt account just to publish at twice the rate.

I had overwhelming demand to create and publish bear costumes that I had to buy a second premium subscription to keep up.

Everything was out of my own pocket. Tens-of-thousands of robux spent to give back to the twitter/X community. I always admired creators who would give away free accessories. A series of similar (but distinct) accessories seemed to be the best way to get people motivated to “collect them all”. Many creators have done it before.

I had people sending in designs and modeling their own bear costumes. Regardless, all of them required my involvement in either cleaning up or entirely designing them. I was spending hours every day for weeks only to upload these for free.

I understand that there is a vulnerability with layered clothing that makes these kinds of accessories broken. I accept almost every accessory I have ever made cannot be on the catalog. I only ask for permission to try again, with different types of accessories or bundles. I want to create bundles more than anything. I have a bundle that has over 70,000 sales. I am able to contribute to the catalog in a meaningful way.

Full body costumes like that if it is layered clothing. have been moderated and enforced against awhile. They been moderating stuff like that ever since bundles became more of a thing. They will moderate something has “spam” if it is miscatagorization. It doesn’t say it in the guidelines clearly however I have had a few people come to me about their full body costumes getting deleted.
