Average visit length is 1 minute

Hi, I just published my first game and started sponsoring it. However, after looking at the developer stats the average playtime is less than 1 minutes. Is this normal for a new game? Is there something obvious I should change that I can’t see. I’ve tested everything as much as I could people just don’t seem to be actually going into a game (hence the 1 minute length)

This is my game: Bloxopoly 🎲 [BETA] - Roblox

Thank you for any feedback or suggestions, anything is appreciated

If anything it is probably because the game has no music and it advances very slowly

its literally a copy of ronopoly thats probably also a reason why it has less players

You have to wait for somebody else to join in order to play. The average player won’t wait longer than a minute for someone to join.

Many peolple leave the game because they dont like it. When you are advertising/sponsoring your game, expect average visit length to be like this. When you get enough players that like your game, the visit lengh will be much greater.

I’ve actually been working on my game before that one came out :sob: I just took too long to make it

It’s literally a copy? It was created almost 2 months before that game lol.

Ok thanks, I’ll add some music. I usually keep my sound turned off, so I didn’t realize how quiet it is. Do you mean the movement is slow or is it something else?

I have a game that was created in late January 2022, and my average visit length is around 25 - 30 minutes. This is not because of friends however, this is actual players playing with their friends or by themselves etc.

How to solve your issue

Roblox’s average visit length is calculated by how engaging the game is to the players.

  • Make your game more engaging to others
  • Make Original games.
  • Make your game stand out.

Then again, there are millions of roleplay games on roblox, and Brookhaven took the prize somehow.

You know, YouTube has this blurb that basically says the first 2-5 minutes of the video will dictate if a viewer continues to watch your video or not. So basically even if a video is amazing if the intro is boring people skip it.

Same applies for any game especially one that the player knows nothing about such as the typical ROBLOX game.

It’s also true that if your game is practically the same as another that is way more popular there is not much reason for the player to play yours unless your game is better. This why murder mystery versions got more popular than others over some time since one became better than the others.

I’d suggest investing in a well edited video + thumbnails for your game to get more people clicking to play for one as well as paying for a good eye grabbing advertisement. And yes music is big, try to make the intro to the game engaging and fun. Especially if you have a waiting room give the player something fun to do other than just waiting for the next game to start.

To combat the issue of “waiting for more players” the only thing you can do other than making the waiting time enjoyable somehow is spend more on advertising. More chances that more than 1 player joins at a time.

Oh one more thing I wanted to add. Think of yourself playing this game you join and you’re the only 1 player playing the game. Not knowing if anyone else would ever join. Would you stay? Probably not. So I think if your game is good it might just come down to a need for advertising to draw in multiple players at the same time

I did initially add bots for this reason, but I guess not many people are willing to just play with computers, or it isn’t clear enough that’s an option. Thanks for all of your suggestions, I will try to make a trailer and stuff. I’ve only put in ~1000 Robux so far as a test on sponsors, but I have around 30,000 in group funds to use.

I don’t think so? other games has over 20 minutes, but has much less visits…
