@buildthomas I am not interested in web development, I’ve learned more than enough in that field. I am currently focusing on low to mid level C++, specifically for the OpenBlox (https://openblox.org/) project.
Yes you can. How else do you think they get new users on those platforms?
Who is the person that works for ROBLOX and knows what they’re saying by giving out a public memo? It’s @ReeseMcBlox (FoxCrab).
Sorry I posted on my alt. >.>
The username rules affect new account creation as well as username changes. They need to be implemented and test on website, iOS and Android apps, and Xbox. Each of those platforms have different release and testing cycles. It seems like a simple feature but it really balloons at our scale.
Due to the showstopper issue found last week we’re holding off on releasing this feature for a bit longer. It’s back to Soon™ mode for at least a couple weeks. This is my decision.
@Usering It shouldn’t matter, if you can create users on those platforms. They all just call the website, anyway. If you remember, I implemented this in my Android application, which was published (and subsequently taken down via DMCA).
@Programatic You were literally just given a explanation of the issue by a ROBLOX staff member, and were told it was a change affecting those platforms. Do you think she lied to you? She said it affected those platforms – it affected those platforms, whether you think it should or not.
@ReeseMcBlox Sorry I had no idea who @FoxCrab was, but I assumed it was a ROBLOX employee. Obviously didn’t know it was you, but that doesn’t matter. It’s definitely fine
@EchoReaper If it affected those platforms, I would love to know how. If it’s in validation, then that’s one thing. If it actually affected functionality, something must definitely have been done wrong on somebody’s part.
I wonder if the mobile site still has weird differences from the main site, merging their login code (if it hasn’t already been fixed via the UserLogin ‘API’) would fix some of this. It’s been a while since I’ve messed with the ROBLOX website’s authentication and registration.
You can create accounts on iOS, Android, and Xbox.
The issue they found was not necessarily with any of those platforms. But since it’ll require an update somewhere, it’ll require another test cycle for all of those platforms.
Stop being unnecessarily hostile and questioning and stop trying to apply your passive-aggressive sass to this thread. I’m getting tired of it.
Any update on this?
@ReeseMcBlox said it would be at least a couple of weeks. It hasn’t even been two weeks yet. Be patient.
It has been now, and I generally don’t have much access to the forum until after hours
Please just patiently wait for an update. Make sure you are watching this thread via the option below so you get an email when a post is made.
So many days later. >.<
Yes, soon_tm. I will let you know when to expect it.
4 DAYS LATER
Expect it in the next couple days.
I am no longer like “Where is the underscores???”
