REC - Recruit
Recruit - The rank given once signed up and enlisted for the British Army, this rank has no insignia and a blank rank slide.
PVT - Private
Private - The rank given to recruits who have just passed their Basic Training. They have no insignia and are represented by a blank rank slide.
NCO - Non Commissioned Officers:
LCPL - Lance Corporal
Lance Corporal - First of the Non-comissioned officer ranks. Their insignia is a single chevron.
CPL - Corporal
Corporal - Leads more soldiers than a Lance Corporal, Their insignia is 2 chevrons.
SGT - Sergeant
Sergeant - Leads more soldiers than a Corporal, Their insignia is 3 chevrons.
SSGT - Staff Sergeant
Staff / Colour Sergeant - Leads more or the same amount of soldiers as a Sergeants, Their insignia is 3 chevrons and a small crown at the top.
WO2 - Warrant Officer 2nd Class
Warrant Officer 2 - Leads more soldiers than a Sergeant Major. You address them with “Sir” or “Ma’am” but do not salute them. Their insignia is a coat of arms with a red outline.
WO1 - Warrant Officer 1st Class
Warrant Officer 1 - Leads more soldiers than a Sergeant Major. You address them with “Sir” or “Ma’am” but do not salute them. Their insignia is a crown, there is not distinguishable difference between WO1 and WO2.
CO - Commissioned Officers:
LT - Lieutenant
Lieutenant - Is the first of the officer ranks, you salute people who are Lieutenant or higher and address them with either “Sir” or “Ma’am”. Their insignia is 2 pips.
CPT - Captain
Captain - Leads more troops than a Lieutenant. Their insignia is 3 pips.
MAJ - Major
Major - Leads more troops than a Captain. Their insignia is a small crown.
COL - Colonel
Colonel - Leads more troops than a Lieutenant Colonel. Usually the 2iC of a regiment. Their insignia is a small crown and 2 pips.
BRIG - Brigadier
Brigadier - Usually the first in command of a regiment. Their insignia is a small crown and 3 pips in a triangle.
CR - Chief Ranks:
GEN - General
General - Overseers of multiple regiments. Keeping departments in order and in-charge of hiring and finding new commanding officers.
DEV - Developer
Developer - Developer and producer of assets for the British Army. They are apart of a regiment called Corps of Royal Engineers
CDEV - Chief Developer
Chief Developer - Developer and producer of assets for the British Army. They are the first in command of the Corps of Royal Engineers
VCGS - Vice Chief of General Staff
Vice Chief of General Staff - 2iC of the entire Army and regiments, handles in funds and foreign affairs.
CGS- Chief of General Staff
Chief of General Staff - Commander of the British Army.
