I own a group named Ahwa and I hired a developer to protect my game with an anti-exploit. Yesterday, I have decided to end our partnership and I told him he can remove the anti-exploit before I demote him. He took advantage of the situation to add a backdoor in my game that kicks players every time they join the game. He told me I will never be able to find it and deleted because it is hidden in coreGUI. I need your help.
Press Alt + S to open up the settings.
Then tick that highlighted box.
You may also want to tick Show Hidden Objects in Explorer
so you can search everything there for any scripts. If you do please reply with the scripts.
Although i don’t have the answer, i would like to share my experience with stuff like this and what he can ACTUALLY do.
What can he really do to you and your group?
He can’t steal your information, that is just to scare you and get reactions. He does have the power to kick and ban in some cases, so watch out for that. He can’t do any damage to your group unless the virus is through a webhook like it was with the person who did it to me. The hackers have to delete the webhook before the virus is deleted. In this case, you should be safe though. This is just another dumb excuse to let out anger that expert coders do sometimes. It’s horrible and can get their account banned.
How He Might Trick You
These types of people often use manipulation to get their way. For example, one time one of these people stole my account but i was lucky to get it back in a day. They made me think they were not who they appeared to be and i will never make that mistake again as it haunts me every night to this day.
How To Prevent This In The Future
Run an advanced background check on the account and accounts associated with it and decide “Is This A Safe Person To Be Around?”, “Should i trust him with my game?”, and always make a backup of the game so you don’t have to look through so much code.
Hope it helped, Aidan Plays!!
Here is a possible solution to this:
- Make a new game file, copy the core scripts from that file.
- Open the current game, delete core files, and reinsert new ones.
To find core GUI scripts do what @sjr04 said. Enable “Show Hidden Objects in Explorer”
Another option is just to go through every script and use the find feature to search for that message your previous developer put in.
For the future, however, you may want to handle your developers more professionally. If you demote them, protect your work first, create a backup.
On a side note it’s probably a good thing you got rid of them, s/he has the maturity level of an 11 year old given that message they left…
You can revert the game if you want.
They might have tricked you by saying it’s in the coreGUI. I highly you check each single one of your scripts and module scripts and see if there’s anything suspicious. I mean, it’s too easy to say “ull never find it its in the core gui bhaabhabh” when you can just turn “Show Core GUI in Explorer while Playing” in Studio’s settings, as incapaz stated. And if it’s actually hidden in the core gui, wow lmao, not really wise of them to tell it it was hidden there.
Maybe try Ctrl-Shift-F and search for stuff like “You were kicked”, it may lead to the script that generated the gui. If it’s not there the string might be scrambled up or they used a remote module script.
First, not in core gui. It’s under serverscriptservice.
Well theres always two sides to a story, are we sure AlertShamrock wasn’t scammed by P_xul?
Just revert version before it got added
@P_xul, if you want me to look for the backdoor myself, I will. Could you reply to me with the game file and I will tell you if I find it. I have a bit of knowledge of backdoors.
Scam or not, this is a poor way to react to such a thing, and if done in the real world can land you in jail.
Alright, add me on Discord. P_xul#4445.
I never scammed anyone, he offered his services for free and even hided the fact he payed for the anti-exploit for me. This is not a debate, this is a roblox topic.
I don’t know should you trust random with your entire game
I’m sorry. I do not use discord. If you are not comfortable with PMing me a file of your game, that is okay
As Discgolftaco231 said, it would be helpful if you provided us with the game file.
I am not a random. If he does not feel comfortable, then he shouldn’t do it.
Unless you guys knew each other beforehand, I’m pretty sure to him you’re a random…
