So I’m wondering, I know how to turn on and off backface culling, but how would I turn it off to a model that I imported from the toolbox and rendered into blender?
Is there a solution to fix this or is it the model itself I need to replace?

You can recalculate object normals in blender very easily.
Enter Edit Mode with the object selected, press a to select all the verts/edges/faces.
Then follow this menu path:
That should fix all your issues.
Have a good day and let me know if there are any further issues!
I always thought you were supposed to flip the normals?
Only if Recalculate Outside/Inside isn’t working.
The only time it won’t work is if your mesh isn’t closed, (i.e. if it as an open hole in it) combined with an irregularly shaped mesh. Blender can sometimes get confused if that’s the case.
You can view the orientation of faces by checking Face Orientation:
Unless you’re intentionally doing weird stuff, you’ll want to make sure that all your faces are blue.
This might not be a normals issue. While you have the bloxy selected, click on the material tab. Scroll down to the settings tab and you will see 2 settings called Blend mode and Shadow mode. Switch both to opaque.
