"Badge is not active" error addition when finding an inactive badge

Hello, everyone! As developers, it’s impossible to keep games with badges secret. You know that many egg hunt games were leaked this year early, like Epic Minigames, while everything was kept secret. But how?

What’s the problem:

The advanced badge collectors like me know a clever trick: we call it Badge IDs.

How it works:

  • The first step is to go to a badge page.
  • Then, we detect the ID in the URL and +1 to the ID number until we reach the latest badge.
  • At the end we add the page in our browser bookmarks and continue this at any time.

Of course, while following those steps, we find some badges that are inactive, like event badges. With this method every single secret game/event game could be leaked.

The solution:

The solution is that when we reach the page of an inactive badge or of a badge that is on a closed game, an error should pop up instead of the badge page. It could be something like: “Error X: The badge is inactive.”

How it will help us:

If this issue gets addressed, developers will be able to keep their under construction games secret. It will also keep secret any event games.
