Bank Build Feedback

Hello, Roblox DevForum. A while ago, I made an old bank for a county. I used a picture of a real bank to help me build it. Can you tell me how it looks or how I could change it? Thanks

I didnā€™t really know how to make shrubs so I tried a grass circle.

Itā€™s quite good! I recommend using the Landscape plugin! It is great for vegetation and rocks and things! https://www.roblox.com/library/242938331/Landscape-Plugin

Add more terrain mechanics, like rocks or trees, and better lighting effects; it would definitely improve this fantastic design!

I sure will, thanks!
I got a plugin.

Alright, keep up the good work! :100:

  • Increase the detail to the bushes in the front, you can use unions if needed.
  • Add door handles to the doors or something similar.
  • Add a letter box, poles, or electricity boxes to the outside to increase detail.
  • Add a few decorations such as cars, street signs, etc.

Looks nice! I like the bushes in front of the windows.

This looks like a simple layout right now, it does look like it is lacking in detail which can easily be improved!

Iā€™ve seen that you were trying to go for a ā€œWellsFargoā€ look based off the image you posted.
However, you could improve it by possibly adding;

  • Add more windows! - It could be the fact that half of the building does look pretty bare that makes the build feel less than.
  • Recreate the sign - The sign looks very lackluster, and unimportant to the build. Try centering it, and adding bigger letters - different colors to bring it to life! You could use a Text Plugin and you could play around with the fonts to see which is the best outcome for your bank!
  • Recreate the bushes - You said youā€™re unsure on how to make bushes, but if you wanted to improve them you could try and take a stab at learning Blender, and look up tutorials on how to make nature assets to give the bank some more vegetation!

I have a couple of suggestions:

  • Make sure the windows are the glass texture, as that really pops.
  • Make sure that the map is shadow map, which will define corners and appear realistic when reflected onto your pavement.
  • Try and find textures of bricks or other textures in the toolbox or in kits that can really showcase the build differently.
  • Make sure that your sign is large, as you want to capture the attention of people driving by.

Otherwise, really nice!

I agree with the others, this build needs more detail! But keep your head up, itā€™s a great start! :grinning:

I think adding some (non-functional) cars would make this build look amazing!

Several critiques Iā€™d make here. I already see have found a solution but I wouldnā€™t mind giving my own sort of advice to perhaps help you improve your builds. There are many things Iā€™d change or perhaps completely remove, but here are my tips for a better and more furbished ā€œbank.ā€

ā€“ DO NOT USE ROBLOX TEXTURES! Most of them are from early release and are typically very low-quality and are not seen in more ā€˜qualityā€™ builds. Iā€™d advise you to hand-build the bricks yourself, but if you think itā€™s too much time and you are in a rush, upload your own texture. The only textures I personally use are Smooth Plastic, Neon, Metal, Glass, Concrete, and for the most part nothing else.

ā€“ Add more, ā€˜dimension and detailā€™ to your build and give it a little bit more of a kick and realistic feeling. It might be the angle of the photo, but Iā€™d advise you to add more shape and quirky little details or particles to your build. In the Wells Fargo picture you provided, use details such as the sign, or perhaps the blue handicapped parking, maybe use the negate tool on the two poles to add that little empty circle and turn it into concrete. There are many ways you can spice up your build, itā€™s all up to your imagination.

ā€“ Add-more quality with certain items by using external/other programs. The bushes for example, they look very bland and can be easily replaced with unique flowers using Blender. Using plugins you can find from the ToolBox also can help with the bank title, transforming it from a flat graph into a beautiful 3-D poster. As mentioned, you could use textures from the web to help you, textures.com is perhaps my favorite one of all time.

ā€“ (OPTIONAL) Use lighting to your advantage and add some realism to your build. Playing around with shadows is one of the best ways you could add detail to your build and get a more appealing build.

For a novice builder, Iā€™d say that this is a fairly decent start. Keep doing whatever you keep doing, practice and use the Developer Forum for your growth and ask any questions you might have. Every mistake you might have done, Iā€™ve done it many times in the past. Iā€™m certainly not the best builder on the platform and everyone has their own tastes, but all I can say is good luck on your future builds.

Thanks for the help. It really helped me. I am starting to use textures.com and it is great! I will get very detailed and add things you would expect to see to make it more realistic.

Looks good. Try to center the name of the building (like under the door), try to add more pillars on the side of the footpath for it to look more realistic and as most people said:

WINDOWS ARE KEY!

This looks really good. You should make it seem more realistic though.

Personally, I use kits like these to help make things a bit more realistic and pop out (Use ShadowMap!!!): https://www.roblox.com/library/1056369371/Nature-Kit-V-0-9 (Has great trees, bushes, rocks and more.)
https://www.roblox.com/library/321620185/More-Materials (Lots of good textures, but textures.com is also a good option too.)

I believe that the sign should be centered or have a pole with the sign on top like certain places would do or center it and make it a bit larger. Otherwise, good build!

Itā€™s good, but I suggest to add a 3D Text.
To add 3D Text search in the Libary about it or use this plugin: https://www.roblox.com/library/4894275766/3D-Text-Maker

Hope this helps you. :sparkling_heart:

The build is done well, but still can be improved massively in-terms of detail, and the thought process in designing a bank. I highly suggest using actual bank design references from google images, it would look alot better if the Name of the Bank was more visible, could add some lighting on the exterior to give more design maybe a few bricks on the walls as design. The top of the build looks flat, could add a generator, vents or even a billboard.
