Baseball Bat textures won't go to Roblox Studio

I’ve been trying to get the textures and colors from my baseball bat on Blender into Roblox Studio, but every time I import it, they never end up going with the import.

Any ideas about how I can fix this?

Hi, did u use a image texture in Blender? And also, sometimes you can just upload in Roblox the image texture that you used in Blender also in Roblox, and it will equip if you did it right in blender on the right places in Roblox Studio.

if its procedurally generated with a principled bdsf or smth it wont work it needs to be an image

I highly recommend using a texture map which is an image, put it in the item like how you did, then import it to studio and see if it works the same

Am I able to add the image texture and then edit the principled bdsf with it working?

If you did use the same image texture in Blender it will automatically enter in studio automatic

Did it work btw?? Let me know

Hey! If you are using normal materials from blender ( creating them manually and applying them to the model ) It won’t work…
I can suggest a few things that might work out for you

  • Try Saving the materials as Image textures and upload them on the mesh’s TextureID
  • Try Exporting the Object/Mesh as .fbx
  • You can try using the Blender to Roblox Export Plugin link to the plugin
  • If the materials you are using are separate like Shadow Map, Roughness Map, etc… then save them as separate images and upload them from the asset manager use surface appearance under the mesh object, and select the appropriate texture there.
  • Try uploading the model using the asset manager split into pieces together with textures saved as images on your computer

Refer to this youtube video, this is a guide on how to import the texture into studio > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D8ellv-n3g0&ab_channel=Bluesteel

It worked in terms of getting it into roblox studio but not in terms of the overall look

The metallic effect is only aviable, this isn’t a texture so Roblox won’t render that

What you could do to get the metallic look is to bake a color map, normal map, roughness map, and metallic map. Then you could upload those maps and plug them into the surface appearance instance I think.

It isn’t perfect, but it’s pretty good. Thank you, guys. Especially @lusenaire @Ecot_s and @aUseless_Scout

I couldn’t have fixed it without your help.

You have to export the textures separately and import them again in Roblox studio.
