Created this medieval notice board. Wanted to make it different than the usual wooden square, so I went with a “nordic” design. It’s hard to see, but should the planks have gaps in the center like on the left? Or should they be touching like the right?

Here is a picture with papers, so you can get a more realistic feel of the final product. Also, AI can play a huge part in creating small props like the paper.

The gaps are subtle. However, do note that you will likely save performance by removing the gaps, and I feel like such a small, minor detail might not even be worth miniscule performance issues. Making the gaps larger might distract the user.
I believe it is best for there to be no gaps with that being said.
