works fine for me.
It might work on your desktop, but the codec may almost certainly be corrupted. If you try re-uploading that audio file to other places on the internet with a different expected codec (yet the same file extension!), you will certainly run into issues.
This is a poor practice and should be avoided completely.

@good_evening EDIT 3: okay I tried uploading it to soundcloud and it worked flawlessly. Can you give me an example where it would not work. I’ve yet to run into any problems.
I’m not software engineer master like everyones dad but I think the reason it works is because mp4s are already mp3 just with video data too, so if you switch it to mp3 and then run it in an mp3 player the mp3 player will just read the mp3 data. 
EDIT 4: I did some research and even though it does work, for the sake of good practice it’s better to convert the file
