Beginner's Guide: Making Glass Out of Plastic Material

Greetings, my name is Paul, and in this topic, I will show basic things to do know and how to build a glass part for your house or building.

Step 1
You can place a brick by pressing this icon in the top part of the studio.

Step 2
After you placed the part, press it and the part will be surrounded by a blue line.
As seen in the picture

Step 3
Once you press the part, go to ‘Properties’ and it will look like this.

Step 4
Find ‘Brick Color’ and change the color to ‘Toothpaste’

Step 5
Go to transparency

After this you’ll need to set it to 0.5 so it would not look invisible, too much transparency will make your part look invisble, and may not look like glass.

I hope this helped you turn a part into glass!
Thanks

Can’t you just change the material to “Glass” and set the transparent and reflectance to half?
What is the difference with your method?

Part transparency is between 0 and 1. 6.5 makes it completely transparent.

Bout’ that, using glass make everything you look through it look weird and real window aren’t like that. You could say glass become transparent it like a magnifying glass more than a window. Plus it also make water disappear when you look thru it for no reason-

Ah… I see you are correct.

I feel like this tutorial was much too simple. All you’re doing is changing a part’s color and transparency, which should be easy for any beginner, as that should be the first thing they learn at all.

This is why it’s in the title.

I believe that only works (the seeing through other transparent objects) with graphics level 8 and up.

Ok, guys, the other topic was removed already. Do not flag this one.

The problem is that I’ve already flagged it. Is there any way I can unflag it?

Well, it’s ok.
The topic was back up.

Unfortunately basic Studio usage is not substantial enough for this category.
