Best approach to a Flag Implementation in Capture the Flag

This question is directed to the actual flag portion of capture the flag. There are a couple different options that I have been considering, so I would like any opinions or suggestions based on my thoughts below.

I understand the flag is welded together, but is it best to weld the flag to the flag mount and then change the weld to the player when a player touches it (assuming player dies, then re-weld it back to the flag mount?). Thinking about it, my concert would be different orientations of the flag throughout this process.

What about attachments? This ideas stems from my interpretations of the concern of orientation listed in my thought above.

I’m not really looking for any specific scripts, mainly the conceptual design/logic.

I think either way you’re looking at some sort of weld. Attachments might be useful as markers for position and orientation. Using the “BackAttachment” on the character rig for instance. And then use an attachment on the flag mount to mark the center of the flag pole or something. I don’t think I would even bother making it a tool or an Accessory.
