Best method to model hair?

I currently use the method that require beveling paths with a bezier circle, but I look at some of the hairs in the UGC catalog, and they look completely different from the hairs I make with my method. What’s the best method to model hair?

The best method to model hair is blender. It takes a long time to fully make hair styles. But blender is the most used software for the UGC catalog. It would take a very long time and a lot of hard work into successfully making your hair model that you want.

Most UGC creators use blender, from what I know it takes a lot of time to get hair that detailed.

You still did a very great job on the hair model you made. UGC creators spend hours in blender making the hairstyle perfect the way they want it. I believe that you can accomplish that too.

The hair that you made look really good! I don’t see anything wrong with it. I think the main difference between your hair and the ones found on the ugc catalogue is that amount of faces. Generally when you look at hair strands in the ugc catalogue, they don’t look like perfect circles. Try using a bezier path and a circle with 8-4 edges maybe deform the circle a bit so it’s a bit flat, use the array and curve modifier to fit it along the curve
Texture is also really important when making ugc hair, but that’s a completely different topic

There are other ways to make it look nicer then just modeling the hair, another important thing is the texturing of the hair.

Thank you for all the tips! I’ll be sure to keep them in mind the next time I model
