Best tools/plugins/3rd party software for creating terrain?

I’m trying to make a good looking terrain map. I’m not interested in using height maps. Is there any plugins or software that you would recommend for this? Or is the default Roblox terrain editor the only tool?

Thanks for the reply, but I wasn’t looking for a copy paste response, and you successfully avoided my question entirely. While I’m sure the Roblox tools are good enough, there are certainly tools that can make the job a whole lot easier. This has become increasingly apparent through my own research.

You wrote a whole paragraph about why plugins are bad?

I don’t have a large list of plugins like you are looking for but I just recently found this one tool.

It allows you to convert your meshes into triangles for better collisions.

Edit: It is perfect for custom mesh terrain that you don’t want to use meshes for because of collisions.

You can use a few different custom terrain building maps (with parts);

Part to Terrain - I personally have not used this one, but I’m pretty sure a few of my friends have, and it could give you the look you want for a terrain map (if you’re looking to use Smooth Terrain!)

Build v4 - I know this tool has a variety of studio tools and such that you might be able to mess around with to see if you get anything you desire. You’re also able to create part terrain using this tool, but I don’t like the feel of it (due to what I was used to using the F3X tools). You might enjoy the way this tool lets you create part terrain over tools though.

Triangle Studio - A few people are saying in the comments that this plugin doesn’t work anymore, nor have I actually used this either, but you could always take a stab at it to see if it works for you and gives you a low part count for a map design.

Wedged Terrain - I used to use this plugin a lot a while back and I actually enjoyed using it, it’s a decent little plugin to give you terrain parts and still keeping things different and ‘unique’ in variation!

Low Poly Terrain Creator - I have also used this a while back in the past, I personally didn’t like using it but you might. Once you pull the nodes up to a position you like and you finish your map layout, you might/should be able to use Gapfill to fix any gaps/holes that occur in the terrain!

F3X Building Tools - For this tool, which I use all the time for almost everything (when I’m not in Blender). I used to create part terrain using this tool!

If you don’t find any of these useful, you could always try to create your own mesh terrain in Blender. If you need a few tutorials on it (if you choose this route) I can give you a few tips about it in messages.

Thanks for the suggestions. I’ll try these plugins out and see what I can do.
