Best way to get best results for renders?

I am somewhat into designing GFX, and I would say I am half decent. My question is, what do you find the best way to get the best results with a render? “Best results” are referring to how pixelated it is, so what’s the best way to get a very non pixelated render? Thank you for the help!

Are you talking about actual renders within 3D programs?

Do you use C4d or Blender.

C4d is a better engine for getting good renders, what I would suggest if you use C4d would be to change your render format from “Standard” to “Physical” and use a HDR sky. You can also change shadows from 5 - 1 so you don’t get weird shadows and the face doesn’t look grainy or pixelated.

Some of my Recent work

Assuming you’re discussing Blender, I have a few key settings. First, I use Cycles 100% of the time. It’s better in almost every way. In the default view, you’ll see a dropdown on the top of the screen labelled Blender Render or something like that. Switch it to Cycles Render.

Now, you’ll want to use the samples panel to set how many “samples” are taken on each pixel. I find that for simple scenes, 128 works nicely-I’ve never needed more than 500 to render the most complex of scenes.

I used to crank up the samples into the thousands to clear it up as much as possible, but it resulted in overnight render times (for one frame!), and a still somewhat grainy image. As it turns out, there are a few other settings that will make a world of difference in your render:

In the “Scene” panel (the second icon), enable Denoising. The default settings work nicely for me.
Additionally, you can turn off the Caustics options in the Render panel, unless you’ve got glass in your scene.

For more tips and such, Blender Guru has a great tutorial on this exact topic. His whole channel in general is fantastic for learning to use Blender.

@ChipioIndustries hit the nail on the head. If you’re looking for basic renders though and are using Blender, the Cycles with vanilla settings still spit out a half-decent image for something originally intended for Studio.

And Blender Guru is an amazing resource if that’s the program you use. I cannot recommend his videos enough.
