Best way to put custom hats on npcs?

I’m wondering what is the best way to put hats on npc is. The way I’m currently using right now is setting the hat’s attachments. This way takes a long time & I have to play and then leave for my new position to register. Are there any plugins or an easier way to do this?

If you’re hat is legit made by ROBLOX, try using a plugin like EasyInsert. If not, then put your item in an accessory.

But the accessory sometimes make the hat not where I want it to be, and my hat has a custom mesh.

If you made your custom hat in blender, then export it to obj. Import your hat as a mesh and then insert the object hat. Put the mesh in the object. Make a joint. And then insert a dummy, and move the hat in the npc. Then it should do it.

I think you are misunderstanding my problem. I have insert the object hat, but I want to change the hat’s position. (More lower for example.) Is there a easier way to do this?

The Youtuber will mention positioning in this video:

Probably around 2:15 minutes

Tell me if its helpful.

EDIT: I found out welding the mesh to the head is easier than using Roblox’s Hat Accessory.
