as a roblox developer (and as an end user) it’s currently really FREAKEN difficult to vote for nominees for the bloxys (bloxies?). the main problem is that we are only able to submit the survey once and if we intend to use all of our votes to their full potential, we have to go out, collect up to 40 links to all of the things we want to see nominated, and paste each one into the survey, individually, one by one, painstakingly, high tier boomer ux, before submitting it (INCONVENIENT)
this process is… not ideal to say the least. there a good number of people i would have loved to support… had i not already submitted the survey having skipped over their category already (it also doesnt help that there are 40 different categories this year thats too many?)
i think instead, we should use some system along the lines of allowing someone to submit their place/tweet/art/whatever and get a link in return, that will take you to a page to vote for that nominee (e.g. maplestick tweets out their nominee voting link instead of me having to hunt through 40 different fields to paste the link to their tweet)
anyways this is a pretty messy request but im slightly heated that someone thought that having a survey where you post 40 links was a good idea, and theres also the fact that the terrible UX of the whole system makes it even harder for lil guys to get their (usually deserving) work nominated
This is an interesting concept but a dangerous one. It’s easy for any random large YouTuber to drop this link in their description and get people to click on it, making the Bloxy’s even more of a popularity contest.
i would assume it would take you to a page where you would have to confirm a vote for that person, i don’t think you’d be able to mislead people into voting for you
It’s not necessarily about the misleading aspect of it (which can be solved, as you said), but about the fact that, by making it possible to make a quick impulse vote, people can simply prey on being the first one to have their nomination link clicked.
A better solution may be simply an in-survey game/item search that allows you to search up an item and drag it into the box.
Yeah, there’s definitely a better way for input than the current form. For instance, we could allow users to nominate from the game/asset/group’s page directly. I don’t think names will work in any context though due to potential (and proven) mixups.
