This is a warning to all Roblox users. If someone sends you a URL that claims to be able to download your avatar’s texture template, DO NOT USE IT. While it does download the image, it also gains access to your Roblox account and will strip you of your Robux by way of trade with a dummy account, and may lock you out of your account and possibly get you banned.
The specific link is in the description of this YouTube video. It should go without saying but I cannot stress this enough: DO NOT COPY THE CODE INTO YOUR ADDRESS BAR! YOUR ACCOUNT WILL BE HACKED!
Even having 2-factor authentication won’t protect you from this; the account is accessed without any notification being sent. As good practice, remember these points:
- Never copy untrusted links into your address bar, especially if they contain JavaScript.
- Roblox links always contain the domain of “roblox .com”. If the domain is something different, like “something-roblox .com” or “obvious-scam-roblox .com”, then it ISN’T Roblox and you shouldn’t go there.
I was dumb enough to fall for this. You don’t have to be.
