BFF Key and BFF Lock have incorrect total Quantity Sold

This issue affects the Quantity Sold and serials on BFF Key and BFF Lock.
Expected Behavior:
The Quantity Sold on these items should correspond with the exact amount of original copies that existed upon becoming LimitedU.
The serials should follow suit, with the last serial matching with the greatest number on the Quantity Sold.
(ex.: Assuming that an item has 2000 Quantity Sold, the last serial should be serial #2000 of 2000, instead of something like serial #2602 of 2000.)
Actual Behavior:
The Quantity Sold on BFF Key and BFF Lock are inaccurate, with the items actually having more serials than copies (1500 according to the Roblox Fandom wiki).
This leads to errors like these, showing serial numbers greater than the Quantity Sold.

These items should be updated to have the Quantity Sold correspond with the actual amount of copies of the items that exist.
*Not sure if this bug applies to other items as well, but these are the only two I could find.

I’m assuming the total quantity of limiteds were recalculated when they were being converted to Limited 2.0, and any copies that were deleted (back when they could be) as well as restored copies from rollbacks were accounted for within these totals. Within the series of Sparkle Time Fedoras, they’re now shown to have a quantity between 98 to 101 instead of 100 (excluding regular STF.)

This is correct - can’t remember when exactly, but at some point within the last year, “Quantity Sold” no longer reflects how much of the initial stock was sold (say, after its timer ran out). It’s how many copies / UAIDs exist now, regardless of whether or not it’s on a terminated account.

Limited unique serials have historically been inconsistent. Roblox can (and has on several occasions) added new copies of limited unique items after it sold out, giving them copies without serials associated with them. This was also an issue in the past when you could delete copies of limited uniques, but it was less obvious to the average user, as serials would just no longer exist, causing gaps in the total amount (in this case, it’s causing the serial to appear out of the bounds of how many exist).

Take one of my favorite hats as a good example, having one of the highest deleted copies by % - 100 copies of this item was sold when it released in 2010, but only 42 UAIDs exist now. 26 of these 42 copies are on terminated accounts, so they still “exist”, but are considered gone to the trading community. The reason it shows 42 instead of 100 is because 58 of them were manually deleted by users, notably Epicene.

The gaps in serials become apparent using a site like Rolimon’s to view its copies.

If I were to put it on sale, it’d say “Serial #60 of 42”. Before this change, it would say “Serial #60 of 100”.

Another item, Red Bandana of SQL Injection, shows 43 quantity sold on the website. According to the Roblox Wikia, 50 copies were sold, so my guess is at least 8 copies were manually deleted, then one was rollbacked, as you can see with the most recently made copy having a larger UAID number & no serial.

Note that #47 is also gone.

Thanks for the report. We have assigned to our team for further review.

After careful examination, we confirmed that the reported behavior is by design. Serial number is not guaranteed to always be contiguous (especially for Uniques published by Roblox many years ago). There are cases where a serial number may be temporarily or permanently skipped over, leading to the largest serial number be greater than the total quantities sold. We’re closing this report, but please reach out if you have any additional questions.
