I believe that if there was a blacklist setting that individual groups can add or remove banned words or phrases in the group, like ‘free robux’ or ‘hack’. That way, people can all have different words blocked in groups, so that people cant do a mass group wall bot as different words would be blacklisted on different groups.
I think it would be much easier than say having a global blacklist for groups, as they can just get around it, having a local blacklist will stop a lot of spam, as people won’t be able to get around it as easily.
I do like the suggestion, but also would add a limit of banned words, and people would have to purchase x ammount of more.
That way group owners can’t be abusing it, and that you can’t change the keywords to ofthen, to go around the limit.
But one downside with this, would be the owner putting down like “you” or “You” as banned.
And then boom, half the group is filtered.
Same can be said for asset comments, PMs and any sort of communication on the website.
The problem is that the phishing bots will simply bypass the common rules, such as turning “FREE ROBUX” into “FRΕΕ ROBUX” (the letter E is replaced with the greek symbol Ε) or “F R E E - R O B U X” or something like that. You can already see people doing that with the extended characterset for ingame use.
But I’m all in for features that combats phishing bots/attempts.
seems like we aren’t addressing the elephant in the room with this feature request. roblox should somehow deal with the problem head on rather than attacking the symptoms. as we’ve learned, we take away one method of them reaching out to these children they’ll find other ways.
