Blair: Major Summer Update
Hello hunters, we’re finally back after a very long time with a massive update. Might be one of the biggest yet… but, that’s for you to determine. Without further ado, we’re proudly finally presenting this essay of a changelog and we hope you enjoy! As always, thank you for your feedback and support.
Introducing lobby v2
This is what took the longest in the development process of this update. We rewrote the entirety of the lobby server, redesigned the UI and changed up the internal framework. Please report bugs and give suggestions regarding lobby v2, it’s a new system and we expect things to occassionally go wrong. Thank you for your patience!
- Physical lobbies: no more staring at a screen when you join your friend’s lobby. Now you can walk around, interact with your surroundings, chat and mess around in a physical environment, all with your teammates!
- Better titles: the previous idea of chat titles only changing your tag in chat was improved upon. Titles now appear in most UI elements: above your head, lobbies, and the chat of course. Not only that, titles now come with unique effects: some gradients, some animated, some font changes, you name it.
- New form of “private” lobbies: if you want to only play with specific people, you’re in luck. Unlike the old method of inviting everyone manually, or having to mess with private lobby codes, now you can set your lobby’s privacy option to “Manual confirmation”. Players will request to join your lobby and the host gets to decide whether to let them in.
- Daily rewards: can’t be a lobby rework with the famous daily rewards which used to mess everything up. The daily rewards rotation has been expanded to 14 days, gradually getting better over time, with a bonus at day 7 and day 14. Premium players can continue to enjoy a bigger payout from rewards.
- Settings: we cleaned up unnecessary or unfunctional settings from the settings window and introduced some new ones! Don’t worry - custom lobby music remains, we couldn’t get ourselves to get rid of that.
- And yet there’s so much more there’s to talk about…
The Strigoi
- A standard ghost, one that is not fond of water
- Running dirty water affects its visibility in hunts, to the point where you might think you got killed out of nowhere
- On the other hand, they will be slow and passive if there’s no running water in the vicinity
The Nook
- Many have called this ghost greedy, and there’s no surprise about that
- This ghost has been sometimes noticed to steal items, we’re not sure where. Some ghost hunters have also reported their own equipment going missing
- The Nook prefers rooms with many items and so they might wander around the place a lot. However, experienced hunters might be able to manipulate its destination
The Faejkur
- Otherwise called the Faker, this ghost is talented at mimicking sound and tricking hunters
- This ghost will remember sounds it hears: doors, light switches, phones - even our own equipment like EMF Readers or Spirit Boxes, then it will randomly replicate this sound
- During hunts, the Faejkur might use decoy footsteps to trick prey - be careful out there
Welcome to The Alridge Hotel
- The new biggest map, with 41 ghost rooms, 3 floors, a basement, many corridors and long hallways to fear
- Featuring working elevators - though they don’t quite work with the No Hiding Spots challenge…
- Explore as you will and be very careful, the ghosts are ever-dangerous at this location
The Hotel Hero trophy
- If you believe you’re up for the task, we dare you to beat our challenge
- Guess the ghost correctly, complete all objectives, take a ghost photo, with all seven challenges, without any deaths or revives, on Nightmare difficulty (wow, that’s a mouthful) to get this new trophy
- Oh, and you’ll also get $500 and 500 XP as a bonus for suffering through this
The Blood Moon rises
- The Blood Moon is a special event that occurs on all contracts in Nightmare difficulty. It is incredibly rare to have happen regularly, but each enabled challenge slightly increases the chance
- Night Vision is disabled regardless of whether or not you have No Lights active
- Everyone starts at 50% sanity regardless of whether or not you have No Sanity active
- Doors might not be your best friend. During hunts, all doors slam shut and get locked. Hopefully you’re not in the ghost room!
- Even the most shy of ghosts are particularly aggressive
- All hunts take longer, be careful out there
- Guess the ghost correctly, complete all objectives, without any deaths or revives to get the “Blood Moon” trophy
Other significant changes
