Blender 2.8 or 2.79?

Hello everyone. This is my first post- I am a gfx designer looking for a mentor/experienced person to help improve my skills. I also would like an opinion in the comments- which is better; blender 2.79 or 2.8? I have gotten used to 2.79 and want to know if it’s worth taking the time to learn. Thanks!

I believe the 2.8 has user friendly controls, compared to 2.79, which had strange defaults on the controls. The controls are more “expected”, but you can always configure back to the old defaults in 2.8 in ‘User Preferences’.

Okay, thanks for the feedback!

Consider to get the latest version it is much more improved then the older ones all they did was revamped the user interface and toolbar, it’s good to know the latest version 2.8, is much more improved and good to understand how things work so it’s more intuitive then 2.79.

It’s easy to understand since you have a little experience with using the older version if your getting into the latest version there are many resources and guides that will help you understand the interface and the tools. A lot of things are the same in both versions it’s just they updated the interface and move things around.

While there are many tutorials and ways to create graphic designs there are still tutorials on how to get comfortable with the version you wish to use.

2.91 is currently available, so I suggest using that.

2.9 is better and easier to learn with I can hardly even use 2.79 because it looks like such an eyesore lol.

Several people are suggesting 2.91 or 2.8, however, when I began to create GFXs, I started with 2.79 and I got pretty good results. I’m currently still using 2.79.

I’ve tried using blender version 2.9 and I dont have anything bad to say about it, however, I decided to give blender version 2.79 a try. I dont regret my decision at all as its very easy to use and I get the results I want! (I havent tried blender version 2.8 yet)

If your looking for some examples of GFX’s I’ve created with blender 2.79, you can DM me

I’ve got 2.81 but I’m confused on how to use it as the settings are just so complex for me. At least Microsoft’s own 3D Builder application is simple to use but it needs to progress a tiny bit further if I was to create GFX using it.
