[BLENDER] How to fix material mode being transparent

This buggin me for days now and i can’t still find a fix to this problem. This is my first time in blender btw, and i wanted to add some texture but i can’t

here i’m tryna add a gradient to the block but its just doesn’t show anything. It’s in material mode btw

Do you have a GPU? What are your render settings like? This seems like a bug, instead of a misconfigured setting

Did you perhaps enable holdout?

It would REALLY help if you looked at Blender tutorials online.
You’d get better help doing that since this isn’t a forum on how to use Blender.

what i did was ima go in Render Mode to check the texture and then boom

still doesn’t work with the holdout is checked but i think ima use render mode just to check the texture for now

Holdout should not be checked. Also; you need lights.

Make sure these options are turned off in the shading viewport.
