[BLENDER] How would I select a material via highlight

Very self explanitory for those who do GFX on Blender, I am trying to figure out how to select a material when selecting a mesh on Edit Mode.

To give a rough idea, I was doing research on some GFX to try and improve my texturing since I have been out-of-practice for a few months, and I came upon a video where someone was able to select a material on a part simply by clicking it on Edit Mode.

I’ve tried to do some research on how this is done, but to no avail and I’m unsure if there’s maybe a keybind for this that I’m just not understanding.

I’ve been doing interior renders from exporting the build from Roblox Studio to Blender for years and have always had to do the pain-staking process of re-texturing everything manually because of this, and wanted to know a solution that would make my work x100 faster since this is always the part that de-motivates me and gives me heavy fustration.

Any solution to this would be greatly appreciated.

Figured out the solution, swapped my selection mode on the top-right to Face Mode
