I was trying to do this but it keeps doing something else.
The reason i asked is because this bug has exclusively occurred on computers and notebooks without dedicated graphics cards in all reports i’ve read.
Could you go to File → User Preferences → System and change Selection from Automatic to OpenGL Select for me? There might be a possibility that it would fix your issue.
Nope, does not work. I’ve made it opengl and others.
What are the specs of your laptop? Have you updated any drivers recently?
Nope. I’ve never uploaded or updated yet. and rotating works before today happened.
You can change the pivot point to 3D cursor and it should rotate around the point where the cursor is located. You can also change it to active element so that it can rotate around another mesh.
I don’t think this solves the issue OP is having.
@Pyrotenics I’m at a loss here. A few more things i would suggest.
- Save the .blend file, link it to us and try to use it on another computer. That way we can confirm that your laptop is the source of the issue.
- Go into Windows Update & Security settings and make sure there hasn’t been an update recently. It may be possible that it did without your consent.
- Share your laptop specs. It makes it easier for me to filter through bugs that have occurred on similar hardware.
Edit: Did you find a fix? If so, could you share it with us?
Go to File > User preferences > System > Selection > OpenGL Occlusion Queries > Save User Settings
