Blender seems very hard, and the results

Blender in general seems complicated, When I attempt to use it for GFX my results come out horrible. Is there any tips, like how to make a background… Any Professional videos you know? The ones I find on youtube teach me how to import and move the character, I look for making something like this:

And end up with something like this(NOT MY ACTUAL RESULTS, IT’S JUST A EXAMPLE OF HOW BLAND IT IS):

Bland, I feel like I can never get a background, add tools, etc! No youtube tutorials show it, or any. Please help, I want to be a Roblox Artist, it feels impossible!

Here is an alternative that I used when I first started GFX. There is a app called 3D Viewer in your windows operating system. Just export the roblox scene that you want to make a GFX of as a OBJ file and then what you do is open that OBJ file in your 3D Viewer app. From there you can adjust lightning and stuff and then you can take a picture of it. That is the best alternative you can use for GFX.

Blender is gonna take a while to learn, and most of those effects are done in the actual photo editor. A little tip for blender is ignore most of what you see as you won’t be using it. I’d spend some time messing with the photo editor now though. render the character in blender then use paint . net for the effects. Good luck and have fun!

How do I make effects is my question on paint.net?

There are a lot of good YouTube videos on adding effects to pictures.

You basically just draw on some lighting with the brush tool and change the hue/contrast/brightness/saturation of the picture to make it look the way you want.

I wouldn’t compare yourself to the very best artists in the world right as you’re starting out, everyone has to start somewhere :+1:

You’ll learn as you mess with the software and the built in effects, theres an effects tab at the top.

Watch some blender tutorials that aren’t related to Roblox GFX. If you are specifically looking for stuff about making scenes to render your characters in, there are plenty of great videos out there. This is where I started out learning blender.

My favorite youtube channel for this is the Blender Guru. I would recommend starting out with some of his beginner videos, like his Donut tutorial, just so you can start to get a grasp on the basics and some helpful techniques, and then there are plenty of other videos on his channel that are helpful in learning how to create dynamic scenes in Blender. There are also plenty of other channels that are really helpful.

In addition to this, you’ll need to get a grasp of photoshop or other photo editors if you really want to bring your GFX to the next level.

Blender is an extremely useful program, but it is not particularly easy to learn. It seems quite daunting at first - I know, because I also just started learning it.

Here are some of my renders - they’re simple and a great way to improve your skills.

Renders

I used Grant Abbitt’s YT tutorials to make these - they’re amazing and will really help you.

Also, remember that the artists making those GFX are very skilled and probably have years of experience using the program. Not only that, they might also be using other programs such as Adobe Photoshop to edit and improve their work.

3D viewer isn’t good for these kinds of work, you won’t be achieving anywhere near the quality so it’s not something you should recommend considering he never said he wanted to switch to a different software

I personally know what you mean. I come from experience. This tutorial personally helped me:

However, it is only the basics of blender. Also, I think if you try Photopea for editing that might help. There are definitely tutorials for it.
