Blender - Separating Humanoid head?

Currently getting used to Blender and just thought I’d throw a question on here -
I’m attempting to split the Humanoid head in half - This way I can design on one side and mirror it, keeping it symmetrical. However, when trying to split it - My faces are looking like this:

Because of this, there’s no clear centre of the head - So I’m struggling to slice it in half?

Thank you,

That is what we call: Bad Topology
Probably if this is not your model the modeler used a Decimate modifier or just did it wrong

I recommend you delete all those triangle faces, the ones from the center, because the others are good, so delete that layer and then connect the vertices from top to bottom so you create a new regular and square faces

Yeah, the head is straight off of our Humanoids.

So:

  1. Delete the triangles.
  2. Replace with normal fills?
  3. Work from there.

Yeah so you delete the center layer, now you have a top and a center
Click one vertex from top, shift click one vertex from the bottom and tap F

Now do the same with other 2 vertices next to this ones
Then select the 2 edges you created, the 2 lines and click F you will create a face
Then click one of the edges of that face and hold F until everything fills up

You are going to have to select all (press a) press F3 to search and type in “Tris to Quads” once you press enter on that option your faces should go from triangles to quadrilaterals. Then press CTRL + R to cut your head in half (you may have to do this multiple times, then delete the top part.

If you need a video I can provide.

I think you should do this:
I can’t fully explain this in text, so I’ll make a video and link it here.

Apparently my blender isn’t working (knife tool is refusing to work) but you want to go to Edit mode, go to face view by pressing 3 (not on numpad), and from the top to the bottom use the knife tool.

I will post a video once blender agrees to work.

Found out that it wont work if I am trying to record, so I will depict this in screenshots.

Actually, this is really messy. I am sure there are more efficient ways to do this, so I am gonna make a homemade robloxian head.

I am so sorry my dude, blender is just not working with me when I try to record. I don’t know why.

also this dude did a better job than me
