[ BLENDER ] Skinning clothes?

I’m working with a custom rig that emulates the R6 rig.
However I’m looking to utilise a 3D blocky clothing aesthetic similar to the below.

Despite having the R6 aesthetic - I do intend for various animations to have bends / curves. Especially in the arms.
In the Inf15 rig shown above you can see it uses Skinned meshes to attach the clothing – I’m just wondering how I could go about doing this using built clothing? How can I have the parts attach to each other despite being different MeshParts?

Does anyone have any suggestions?
