Today i want you to rate and give feedback on my sword that i’ve made in blender.
I like it alot but i feel like it could be better. I trust the Devforum and think it is really useful!
Overall, it is a good sword. It possesses an accurate rain-guard , fuller and such. Though I do spot some inconsistencies.
I suggest you smooth this out.
You could also smooth out the ricasso.
The grip is not usually made of the same material as the rain-guard and the pommel is usually more distinct.
To what I can see is that you mixed both flat and smooth shading together, and that isn’t ideal. If you want the have the smooth cuts but the edges not looking weird, just make it smooth shade, add an edge split modifier, and mess around with the degrees.
I am not 100% sure if you subdivided the handle or if you have smooth shading on it, but if its smooth shading, do the same to the blade and in the normals options, turn on auto-smooth and adjust the angle value to better match your blade . p.s. if your handle is subdivided, I strongly urge you to use smooth shading on it instead with a lower poly handle as subdivide is mostly for making high-poly assets that are meant to be baked onto the low poly ones, which is not in roblox, YET ;).
