Blender UV Texture not showing up at all

The Building Support sub-category is intended for all development support relating to architecture on the Roblox platform. This includes questions ranging in difficulty from extremely basic to even the most technical of issues.

You may present your thread how you choose, but you are required to answer the following questions in your thread;

  • What are you attempting to achieve? UV Textured headlights and taillights on my Nissan 350Z.
  • What is the issue? The issue is that i just cannot seem to have them work. i did it the same way i always do, but apperantly it just decided it didnt want to appear. ive wasted a good two days on the model so i really really want it to work
  • What solutions have you tried so far? Searched anything i can think of on google, restarted studio, re imported/exported the model around 4 times, looked through the entire devforum for a helpful article

You may then include any further details.
its supposed to look like this:

but now, instead, looks like this

I also UV mapped the vehicle badges and they arent showing up, and i changed the meshpart colors and they dont change so i know the texture is there, just not showing up

if you are exporting this as an FBX file, you’ll need to export the texture separately. If it’s OBJ, then you can just export in rendered view and it should be fine.

rendered view? what do you mean by that please explain
also yes i imported it as OBJ.

Did you export it like this? or did was it all grey when you exported it? image

i exported it like that, yes. is that what you mean by that?

Yeah, that’s what I meant.

If that isn’t working, your best bet is to export the textures manually.

how would i export them manually?

very funny, now please actually help me

ok, so go to the uv mapping of the car and then save that image, upload that to roblox, and then make that ur meshes texture id

If you go onto the UV editor tab in blender there should be a button saying “image” on the top right, click that and go, save as image

How do you go this far into making and texturing the car w/o knowing this?
Is the model stolen?

the model is not stolen, ive spent two days on it.
it usually automatically applies the uv mapped texture to the model when imported into roblox

image same results unfortunately. this close to giving up, sometimes i just wonder why roblox is so difficult

I’ve been having this problem too, the best way is unfortunately just exporting it separately and coloring it in studio.

roblox broke UV exporting for Bulk Import meshes. Thanks to Roblox’s “amazing” rankup system, I can’t report that bug anywhere so yeah…

If you want textures to work on your OBJ model, you have to export each file separately without material groups, otherwise the UV coordinates will reset to 0,0,0
