idk ¯_(ツ)_/¯ I’m just saying.
I just wanted to point out that the problem still persists even with ID verified developers.
I don’t even know why the talent hub has the verified people as people who have ID verified. I find it pointless because it limits the amount of work you can get and also even if someone is ID verified it’s not going to reduce the chance of getting scammed .
Update/System design proposal
Update: The 10% fee will be removed, we are going to find another way of funding the project.
New poll, please read carefully.
First idea (current): You go through a roblox OAuth2.0 process so that we can obtain an auth token to make group payouts to the developer on your behalf, while the payout happens the assets uploaded by the developer get locked so that they can’t be removed, after the payment is complete the assets are unlocked to the commissioner so that they can be downloaded but they will still be locked for the developer.
New idea we have elaborated after getting some feedback: The commissioner joins a game owned by our group and will select the exchange he wants to pay, the game will create a developer product with the price set by the developer (the price chosen by the developer when accepting the exchange on the website), as for the previous idea the assets get locked while the commissioner is paying and after the payment is complete our group will receive the funds with the 30% roblox’s tax cut. After the payment is complete the assets will be unlocked so that the commissioner can download them but they will still be locked for the developer. The group owned by BloxTeams will have Robux inside of it right away so that there is no excess wait. The Robux from the DevProduct which is brought will be then used to cover the Robux that was in the group we own before.
Pros and cons of the first idea:
Pros: you don’t pay the 30% tax (only if you already have the Robux in the group)
Cons: you need to trust us and give us permissions to make group payouts on your behalf
Pros and cons of the second idea:
Pros: you don’t need to trust us having access to your group funds.
Cons: Roblox’s 30% tax applies
Now please vote:
- First idea
- Second idea
0 voters
After review due to a lack of voters we will be creating both methods and you will be able to choose while creating the comission.
Development update
This is a demo of how files uploads would work. As you can see in the 2nd image the API returned only the watermarked version of the uploaded image while if the exchange was complete it would’ve returned the original version as well as you can see in the 3rd image.
And as you can see in the image below, a watermark was applied on the image with my username since the exchange was not completed. Please keep in mind that we are still experimenting with watermarks to make them look as nice as possible.
Development update
We have implemented a new setting for exchanges. We have added the “Delivery date” setting; when creating new exchanges, commissioners will be required to set a deadline (Delivery date) for the delivery of the work.
Liminations:
- The DD (Delivery date) cannot be a past date
- The DD must be 2 days ahead of when the exchange is being made
- The DD cannot be changed after the exchange is created
After the DD the commissioner can flag the exchange for scamming and our staff will take a look into it. Please note that there will be tolerance for extreme cases that prevented the developer from submitting the work.
Development update
We are currently rewriting the API in TypeScript so that we can have better code for the development process but also because we are optimizing it to have better performance.
We are also splitting the backend and frontend.
I like the idea and the overall dedication and I think that BloxTeams is a very high-quality piece of software. However, the very issue with BloxTeams is that talent hub exists rendering BloxTeams useless. My suggestion would be to spend your talent on something that developers can widely benefit from as Talent hub exists and I would 100 percent use talent hub over BloxTeams as it is more trustable based on who created it.
I fully understand what you mean about the trust that you need to put in us but what makes BloxTeams different is that you don’t have to trust the other person working for you, or the person you are working for. Our key point is exactly the exchanges system which makes us different from other platforms that already exist like mycenter and hyra as we are very likely going to provide that kind of service too. The no trust system makes BloxTeams different and more secure than commissions done through the talent hub at a scamming level.
Anyway thank you for your feedback
100% incorrect.
First of all BloxTeams is not at the moment going to be designed to allow people to post looking for developers. As @NinjaFurfante07 has stated BloxTeams will be more focusing on the aspect of how Roblox experience developers are able to safely complete commissions without being scammed (or at least a reduced chance of being scammed). The Talent Hub does not at all do this and only allow you to post things when looking for developers for an experience.
Secondly even if we where doing the exact same then the Talent Hub (which we are not), we are creating BloxTeams as bug free as possible. If you ask any devloper or even use the Talent Hub often you will find there are many bugs on the Talent Hub making it hard to use.
I don’t want to at all say the Talent Hub is not secure but seeing the amount of bugs the Talent Hub has I would not at all be surprised if there where flaws in the security of the talent hub to be honest. We are ensuring that BloxTeams is as secure as possible including things such as encryption (and hashing where ever possible). The most two important things for BloxTeams is the security of the website and how we can reduce as many people getting scammed as possible.
We do understand that people very likely will not trust our site right away and we can’t really prove very easily that our site is secure (only way would be to open source the site that will very likely not happen due to security and copying reasons). We do ensure that everything is as secure as we know it can be and that is really all we can do. We are not at all asking for any Roblox cookies or anything in regards to this because we don’t want people to have trust issues with the website as much as possible and even if we do later on implement some type of automated pay out system from users accounts (if/when Roblox adds payments to the OpenClould we may implement something like this) we will very likely make it more of an option that people can choose if they want to have this or not.
Update: New developer
Greetings!
I am happy to announce that we have a new member of the BloxTeams development team. Please welcome @Lanred_Dev to the BloxTeams development team. Lanred will be assisting BloxTeams with the front-end development (website design).
New month, new sneak peak. Let me show you our new landing page.
This is just sample text but you can see the new design we are adopting.
It’s been a while since I visited this topic,
Glad to see you’re implementing a modernized interface, it will really help bring more users to your better Talent Hub site.
However, while this interface uses great typography skills and color palletes, it really lacks visual hierarchy. There’s not a proper nor reasonable “flow” to the site, meaning the visitors’ eyes will look at the site starting from different points.
To establish proper visual hierarchy, you have to focus more on where you want the user to look at right when they see your website. In other words, you should make certain content such as the “register” buttons stand out more from other less important buttons, such as “explore features,” because you’d want to ensure that the user has most attention on the “register” button. But, this does not mean you should completely remove attention from the “explore features” button as it is also important for the user to take notice of.
As a UI designer and website front-end developer, I can provide a tip: it’s not only about the looks, rather it’s the strong design and infastructure.
Hopefully you found this useful!
BloxTeams live chat demo
Hello! Thanks for the feedback, I do plan to make buttons such as “register” look different and more important. This is kind of like a general idea for the UI. However, thank you for the feedback! I will make sure the visual hierarchy is better in some of the finial designs.
Update: We now own the domain!
Greetings!
Yesterday the domain bloxteams.com was purchased by the BloxTeams team so that we have the domain reserved when we get the site finished. At the moment we have a simple info page being hosted on the domain (the info page may update as we work more on the site).
Update: Twitter Account
We now have an official BloxTeams twitter account where we will post updates and things regarding BloxTeams! This account is owned by the BloxTeams development team but at the moment is being mainly run by @NinjaFurfante07 .
Feel free to follow us if you wish to keep up to date on all tweets sent by our team: https://twitter.com/TBTPlatform
Login/sign-up system
Hey, it’s been quite a long while but I have recently been working on the authentication API and I wanted to show a preview of our simple and fast login/sign-up system that uses the Roblox OAuth2.0 flow.
Announcement and question
Announcement
Today I’ve worked on a better system for the authentication API and now every request that requires authentication is faster.
Question
What do you think should be done if a developer fails to deliver work within the delivery date you set when creating an exchange? Comment to let us know!
