Title is pretty self explanatory, when I select a model, or any parent of models that is a folder, blue dots (pivot points) appear in the center of each model, and I would like to know if it is possible to disable them being visible when selecting the parent folder?
That’s the pivot point feature. To disable it, navigate to File > Beta Features, and then tick off pivot point.
I don’t want to disable the pivot point feature, but I don’t want the pivot point visible. This was not previously a problem but now the pivot points are being visible when selecting multiple parts. rather that a single pivot point in the center of all selected objects.
Does turning the parts Into one model fix the problem?
…they’re multiple models, as I stated in the original post. The pivot points of the individual parts do not show up, as intended model behaviour, but the pivot of each model appears when selecting multiple models, or even the parent of models.
As far as I know, there’s no way to disable the points in models without disabling the pivot point feature entirely.
How badly is this effecting your workflow? Can I see some screenshots?
Its not really affecting my workflow, its just a tad annoyance I’d quite like to disable.
From what I can tell, pivot points of multiple models ONLY appear when selecting the parent of the models, but selecting each model individually or together does not have this problem, and no separate pivots appear.
So, selecting a parent that has multiple children that are models, all pivots of the models will appear, but when selecting multiple models on their own (not selecting the parent) no unnecessary pivots appear.
from further examination, this only occurs when selecting folders which have multiple models within them, but selecting a model with children that are models only shows the middle or primary part pivot.
I would suppose as due to the nature of folder usage, this is probably an intended function.
I’ve edited the post title and description as this only seems to happen with folders, rather than any physical object, and so is much less a disruption to workflow.
Thanks for the analysis.
The same problem happens to me and I don’t know how to solve it. Maybe send a feature request?
I’m not sure on how you send feature requests, however I would say that as folders are typically used to group multiple models together without having to use the explorer to select each model individually, that is is an intended and useful feature for the pivot points to be shown, although imo I don’t see any usecase that would benefit from the pivots being shown when you’re not interacting with that model or part specifically.
