Honestly, I prefer the previous one, you just had to correct some small details, this is much simpler and more basic, but you have your preferences, I like the metro style.
I also prefer the metro design over the new one. Feedback for the new one: the buttons don’t actually look like buttons but rather text labels. I’d try to give them borders or some background.
You can probably try incorporating the best aspects of both menu screens to make a new one. But by any means, the new one isn’t bad.
