first time using the dev forum for bugs, sorry

Thank you for flagging this. We are not fixing Accessory positioning right now, because we’d like to ask users to adjust it themselves using Accessory Adjustment. We ask this because fixing Accessory positioning on Accessories after release will affect the position of the Accessory for ALL owners of the Accessory. Many users like the way the Accessory is currently positioned.

We realize Accessory Adjustment isn’t available for Back Accessories, but that functionality should be coming soon. Thank you for your understanding!

Regardless of Accessory Adjustment not being available on all accessories and platforms, wouldn’t it make more sense as an internal policy to center item positioning and then allow users to adjust them outside of this centered positioning as they see fit?

Correcting misaligned item positioning has been one of the least contentious catalog asset bug fixe, while the more controversial changes have been accessory type and geometry changes.

I feel like this new policy may be an overcorrection to account for some recent backlack.

I get where you’re coming from, but the reasoning here is pretty simple—changing an accessory’s positioning after release affects everyone who owns it. Some people might like how it looks right now, and forcing a centered adjustment could mess up how they’ve styled their avatars.

Yeah, fixing misaligned positioning has usually been a non-issue, but positioning is also subjective. Unlike geometry or accessory type changes, this one directly impacts how people wear the item. If Roblox just forced everything to be centered, it could actually frustrate users who don’t want that change.

This isn’t really about overcorrecting due to backlash—it’s more about avoiding unnecessary changes that some users might not even want. The goal is to let players decide their own adjustments instead of making a global fix that won’t work for everyone.
