Build-up of outdated Roblox version folders

Repro steps:

  1. Open the folder %localappdata%\Roblox\Versions by pasting it into your address bar, or navigate to your main Roblox installation, and go to the Versions folder

Expected behavior:
There should be 2 folders, representing the version of the Player and Studio you have installed.

Actual behavior:

I personally have eight folders. There are two that are the actual installations with all the necessary files and assets, but the others are dead folders that contain either the RobloxPlayerInstaller.exe or the RobloxStudioInstaller.exe, with nothing else:

Some are visibly a few months old, from 2023.

Workaround: Delete the junk folders manually.

I also have a large build-up of folders with RobloxStudioInstaller.exe inside each one since around 5 months ago. I don’t recall reinstalling reinstalling Roblox until much before this date so the issue might of started from an update around then.

I’m having the same problems, I have some folders from 2022/2023

Is this ever going to get fixed? I have a ton of empty version folders built up and it makes it rather difficult to find the directory with all of the assets and stuff.

this is still an issue, it seems to happen on any update however a repro is difficult since it can only be observed over the course of a couple weeks; deleting the empty folders is safe and does nothing

I think they’ve changed it to at least clear the folders themselves

Are any of them empty?

Yes it’s empty, but still weird that the folder are not deleted automatically
