THIS JOB IS ROBLOX RELATED BUT IS NOT GAME DEVELOPMENT
Who Am I?
Hello! My name is DreyNotDre (preferably just Drey) I am a long time hobbyist programmer and even longer Roblox enthusiast. Over the years I’ve worked with many tools and languages such as C/C++, Lua, Python, JavaScript, web frameworks, SQL, GoLang, and much more. With those tools, I have worked as a Web Developer for a non-profit, a research assistant in a lab at my university, and currently as a developer for my university. I have a huge knack for development and am willing to bring on 1-2 non-programmers who are willing to be taught by helping me build a complex Discord bot. I will be the principal programmer doing about 70% of the work and will be assigning the remaining 30% to the other two. (This may vary depending on the skill level of the two I bring in)
If you’d like more info about who I am, and why you should trust that I have the ability to teach you. Contact me .
The Team @DreyNotDre- Team Lead @Thezi Programmer @DragonSkyye - Programmer
About The Job
I am interested in mentoring a team of two aspiring programmers who would like to learn by building a functional application. We will be building a discord bot that will eventually be expanded beyond Roblox servers. Our start date will be June 13th and the goal is to have the bot completed by August 19th. We will be having 1-3 voice chat meetings the week before to get to know each other and brainstorm
REQUIREMENTS
16+ years of age
An ability to prove your interest and willingness to learn computer science principles and programming
Proof of your ability to work as part of a team
A good attitude
Sadly, you must be American. With my work schedule, I would not be able to actually assist someone from a timezone out of the United States ( I’m sorry )
Must have or be willing to get Discord and a microphone.
Payment
We’re building a discord bot and I’m teaching you how to program. That being said, I’m fair. I will have a donation set up within the bot for various people who choose to donate to the cause. This money will be split 35/35 between the two who take on this job. And the remaining 30% will be put back into advertising for the bot.

This is a great opportunity for new programmers to learn skills that will be beneficial for you outside of roblox in the computer science field. Can’t recommend this enough.
That’s the goal. This is a mutually beneficial opportunity. I’ve worked on many personal and work related projects and want the opportunity to expand my team management skills.
For sure, I know a bunch of crazy talented younger folk. Though where I’m older and closer to my 20’s I’d feel a tad bit uncomfortable spending hours in a voicechat with someone who might be say, 13. That’s all.
This would be a very promising opportunity but I do have a couple suggestions.
1: Show some examples of your work, no one will want to be an apprentice to someone who only said they can do stuff and not show it.
2: The end goal is to make a discord bot correct? If so, how is that roblox related? Might want to incorporate a Roblox portion to it such as a RoVerify type system.
This is just me nitpicking, but I think you should change “Aspiring Programmers” to “Programmers”. Also include Discord Bot in the title.
Reason being is that, if you can code, and people you are hiring can code, you are no longer aspiring. You are a programmer. Aspiring is generally used when you are hoping to become something. Not when you already are.
This position interested me as I already have made many Discord bots for niche purposes and I can code using JS, however, I don’t meet the age requirement nor do I meet the microphone requirement. Hopefully you find a team that works well for you. Good luck.
Good suggestions,
Well to be honest I’m attempting to be somewhat private though if someone wanted my examples they could just go to my public portfolio. Though, most of my relevant work is posted on my person github and website so I try not to post those openly on roblox affiliated stuff too much.
It’s roblox related in the sense the initial released will be directed towards roblox users (It will include many roblox features). As it grows and has more of a following is when we can abstract it to target a bigger audience.
That’s unfortunate, your expertise would be a great help to the team. The only reason for my requirement is my ability to be more clear and comprehend things better over voice chat.
I still agree with my original title, a different definition of programmers here. I don’t even consider myself a programmer and I work in a job that I use programming languages daily. I’m a student, and so are the majority of people here. (Just my opinion on that, definitely nothing concrete)
This sounds interesting. I’ve been programming for a few years on Roblox as well as dived into other languages a few times but my experience with web-related development is fairly limited (though I don’t know what languages you’re planning to use to make the bot) so I think I could really benefit from this-sounds like a cool learning experience.
Is there any chance I could get more details on what you’re actually trying to make here?
