One question about this new feature, how recent is “recently visited”? Is it the same as clicking see all on the continue tab with your last ~40 games or does this feature track more?
That’s good, not gonna lie, but it’s annoying every time I want to access my favorite games, I have to scroll down the whole page. There should be a feature where players can customize the page however they want, maybe like dragging tabs and bringing them to the top or something like that.
Thats just a exemple
Why do y’all keep doing this, as UI and UX Designer, the home menu is already too much bloated. Having to scroll down 300+ games, to get to the favorites is already a disappointment. But moving Continue is just wrong. Most apps (Movies, or Game Hub) Has always shown the Continue or Recently Played Option in User View.
But my question is why haven’t y’all focused on actually improving the UX and Interface for website. Extensions always done better than current website has done. Yet y’all haven’t really tried to improve those aspects.
I won’t even lie all we want is recently played and favorites to be at the top. We don’t care about the rest
Oh man, I just had a thought of it earlier today, and you announce it right now! Can’t wait to try this feature!
Can you please add a tab on the home page like “New experiences” where there will be newly first publicly released experiences, there would be some criteria for the developer and the experience to not include spam/low-quality content.
Something like: a minimum of 100 followers on the dev’s account, experiences must add a custom icon and at least 3 thumbnails, at least 10 scripts in experience, etc…
This would help smaller developers to get their games popular, not everyone has the money to invest in ads even though their games are good!
Is that really just it…?
I think you guys could’ve done better by carrying over a lot of the mobile futures that are missing on PC for some odd reason
Not bad! Please don’t put people in “People You May Know” just because I happened to be in a server with them, though.
Respectfully, I feel like this post was longer than it needed to be. It’s a good change don’t get me wrong, but I kept reading to see if there was anything more, like managing the hierarchy yourself, but no.
This idea is very cool although I do not like how recently visited is in the search tab, it takes up a lot of space considering that the players are looking for a specific game using it’s name, I do not think they want to play a recently visited game.
This is amazing to see.
One very minor thing, but please can you guys consider adding support to use the hotkey “/” to focus the search bar? This frustrates me to no end.
Thanks
As just about everyone has said, the updates to the home page aren’t adding much to the majority of the playerbase, besides annoyance, as I for one, almost only ever use “continue”, “favorites”, or joining my friends, I rarely, if ever, actually use the recommended, and having to scroll past them to get to continue is just super annoying, and a rather poor design.
Having a recommended section would be find as long as it’s ordered so friends, continue, and favorites are always above them, there’s no reason to clutter the most used area, forcing players to look at games experiences that are either copy paste reskinned, extremely low effort, or straight up not even related to the style the player wants.
Also, if this is a mission for Discovery, why drag the home page into this? why not create a “Discover” page, similar to what the “Charts” page used to be? It would keep the random stuff off of the home page, while still giving it to the people who actually want/care about it
How do changes like this get approved yet alone have resources wasted on them to be developed. Someone, no, multiple people at Roblox actually looked at the already disorienting home menu and decided to make it even more disorienting by having it “dynamically” move around? To see your favorites, you have to scroll to the bottom of the page for goodness’ sake! What’s next? An empty screen that randomly shows you a game every 4 seconds based off “user interaction”? This is getting so ridiculous.
No thanks. I dislike the majority of Roblox games and the bright thumbnails. I use a script to only display my recently played and favorites and I don’t want the tabs switching around as that will break it.
Perfect
Out of curiosity, what extensions allow you to do this? I would love to rearrange stuff.
Oh, It’s AI slop…
My friend got the sponsored tab at the top which should be that relevant to NO ONE. NO ONE. All we saw on that tab is slop. He only plays specific types of games yet his recommended tab is all over the place. Same for me.
Why not just let us move it around ourselves??? I want the continue and favorites tab to be displayed at the top.
Unrelated to this new discovery feature, more related to discovery, I feel like the reccommendation system would be wayyy better if it was based (more) on user-input rather than automation. (Something Roblox is always trying to automate everything for whatever reason)
“Not interested in this content,” “Interested in this content,” “Refresh Recommendations,” and “Refresh Algorithm” (disregard all former selections) buttons would be VERY useful for finding the type of games you want to play, it would also help users curate and discover content they like which is literally your goal, as stated in the post.
Yes, there should be a category for newly released games, but I see some slight problems with this. Condos + Starter Places. Does new games count as private games made public, or would there be a seperate advertize button to use this? What if you’re trying to test with a non-friend? What if you first publish the game as public?
I would just prefer if my Recent and Favorite games were at the top.
Personalized discovery? Pretty misleading. Nothing about this is personalized. Everything is about maximizing engagement and revenue.
Maybe a point could be made if we ourselves could actually customize what game groups we see along with the actual games we see and get. We still don’t even have the ability to sort games by genre. Let alone price, player counts and whatever else metrics.
Can we keep the continue page at the top for once
Dude calm down. The recommended for you is a huge plus to the platform that it desperately needed the chart list would be 100x worse without it. Really I don’t think the home page should get more complicated and should be primarly left how it is.
Adding accessory items to it will BE COMPLTETLY CONFUSING. Its for thumbnails and game search not mass bloating
Todays picks ia a joke though…
