Buildings not properly connecting

trying to build a map but the parts arent connecting together properly.
im unsure if its a studio issue or if theres something horribly wrong with my building, what do you guys think?

that should just be the stud increment you are using, that is not at all a studio issue!

How far away are you building from the origin of the map? (Position 0, 0, 0)
The further away you build from the origin the more parts become shifted due to the way the engine handles positions in a phoenomenon known as Floating Point Errors.

Try moving your cursor to any corner of the yellow part and then drag that corner to the other corner.

You can use this plugin to connect it.

ill try it out, ill let u know if it works!

i have, but its always going to have a tiny gap inbetween, even though i snapped to grid and all

how far will it take until parts start moving weird from your experience? no idea this was a thing.

Do the parts have funky decimals for the size? And what built increment are you using?

Also, can you answer @Almonty7655’s question about the floating point error? I don’t personally know a lot about floating point errors, but answering the question is a good idea.

F3X has a feature where you can hold R and drag a part(or model) by the bounding boxes corners and midpoints on the edge. Great for snapping parts together like that.

One thing that helps me when i get this issue, is to manually change the x y z values to be the exact same (down to the decimals) value so that they are on top of each other, then move it back to its original position. This works almost 100% of the time for me. Let me know if its still giving you issues.

Did the plug-in fix the issue?

you should use the stud increase. go in the “MODEL” tab, then change this to whatever you want.

the lower the number will be, the more free you will be repositioning the object

sorry! ive been taking a break on working my game.
i havent forgotten about your plugin, ill try it out soon

i know, i always use 0.1 and rotate my corner pieces. i have no idea why these gaps appeared

i shouldnt be too far from the origin, at most 1-2 thousand studs.
all my parts for the buildings itself have exact stud sizes; no decimals at all
this is really annoying, since this is my first time building something of this scale and it was working fine when i first started

Try using a lower number: 0.05, 0.025…

check the size of the parts under properties, make sure there’s no size difference even if its just 0.01.
also try the transform tool, usually works for me
