Built another hotel, looking for feedback

Hello everyone, recently I was commissioned to make another hotel (see twitter link for other hotel I did https://twitter.com/TrustMeImRuski/status/939281499798433792). I was just looking for some feedback on how I could do better next time, or what I should change/redo. All feedback is welcome, positive or negative; this really isn’t my style of building.

I’ll be showing photos with the FiB lighting (some photos may look ugly with the lighting because I took some of these pictures after I re-did the lighting to look good in standard studio):

There’s 6 different styled rooms, including premium suits (single & double), standard rooms, and executive rooms.

Some of the other features of this hotel include a bowling alley, spa, indoor pool, ballroom, breakfast buffet room, three office spaces, arcade center, two bathrooms, and two lobbies.

The outdoor pool is fully made out of glass and extends over the cliff side, so you can look straight down and see everything bellow while swimming.

I saw this on Twitter a while back. It looks amazing, I got to be honest I have no feedback to give other then it’s just great!

Is there a building style theme that you were going for with the hotel? (Like an era such as Victorian or just a general theme such as a wood cabin feel?)

Fantastic work.

Would you like a forum post or a blog post worth of feedback?

Just type me up a short novel about how bad my wood grain is.

No feedback, keep doing what you’re doing and that’s it. You’re an amazing builder.

Great build too!

Didn’t realize who made it, otherwise I would have clicked play a lot faster!

Fourth Picture:

  • the door handles are a bit weird
  • door detail could use a bit more shape
  • door sizes aren’t uniform (I can’t tell if it’s just the angle)
  • walls need a bit of a “paint texture”
  • try CSG for the trees, rather than mixing and rotating rectangles
  • bed feels very plastic, try some materials or textures
  • the pillow mesh doesn’t go well with your style
  • refrain from directly connecting chair legs to the seating frame
  • sofa can have a better design
  • TV could use more shape and detail, and it doesn’t look nice hanging off the corner
  • the room overall feels very congested

Sixth Picture:

  • you should have actual books on the book shelf (more variety, etc.)
  • bookshelf could use a better design
  • floor design would look better if you incorporate different styles ingrained in each other, rather than just one texture as the whole base.
  • dining table legs looks weird

Seventh Picture:

  • wall design with the brown rectangles could be something more abstract and complex
  • giant glass walls does not look nice when the walls are too thick
  • ceiling light color doesn’t match the vibe

Eighth Picture:

  • the yellow/grey wall design looks weird
  • ceiling lighting could be more unique

Eleventh Picture:

  • the painting has no picture
  • granite elevator doesn’t look nice, try more of a metal/wood design

Overall

  • textures should be complementary towards your building, not a dependence.
  • style does not correlate with one another
(ex: the trees outside are realistic, and the trees inside are a rectangles; a few obj.s are CSG’d and meshed, when some looks too blocky)
  • better lighting and color choice is vital
  • I am not sure what design you were going for, but a retro-elegant design would be a lot better

However, your building skills seem to be better by every post. I cannot wait to see what you bring to the table next.

Im not wild about the wood texture in front of the door in this pic

Seems almost brassy when compared to the rest of the room.

Thats my only complaint looks good though
