As a Developer, it’s hard to insert a large number of assets from the asset manager into the same parent.
So right now, I’m in the middle of working on a shooter game. and a staple of shooter games is the ammo callout, stuff like “3 mags left” and “last mag!”. One of the important aspects of this system is to have a large variety, so the player doesn’t get annoyed with the same 3 voice liners over the course of your game. That looks something like this.
You see everything that labeled “3 mags-x”? Every one of those has to go in the same folder. and because studio automatically selects whatever you insert, you can’t just go through and mass-select,
My proposed solution? When you select multiple things in that asset manager. and either double click or select ‘insert’ on the right click menu. It inserts all of whatever you insert into whatever you have selected. Hell, you could even just add an extra option to the right click menu. “bulk insert” or something. That way I’m not having to slowly go through this monster list of 138 audios one at a time.
This would also work great if you have a lot of multiple mesh part creations, select them all and hit “insert with location”
It is currently impossible to insert more than 1 asset from the asset manager into workspace. Incredibly time consuming when importing 50+ audio assets.
Selecting multiple audio and then pressing insert only inserts 1 file. This system is broken and needs to fixed.
I want to bump this feature request. It’s been 2 years and something as simple as bulk inserting assets from the Asset Manager would go a long way saving a ton of time from the user.
I had a side project where I was trying to get tons of PBR images ready to be used, but due to lack of bulk importing I wasted several hours just manually importing them one a time, and then manually figuring out which one is which since they don’t also put the name in the decal.
