Bumping an Old Post vs Creating a New Post

Not sure if this is the right category… please tell me if I should move this.

Occasionally, I want to create a post on a topic that a very old post has covered. Is it a better idea to bump the old post or create a new one?

If I create a new post, will it be flagged for being too similar to the old post? If I bump an old post, will it be flagged for bumping an old topic?

If an old post covers the exact same issue you’re trying to cover, you should probably just bump it (especially in platform feedback). If it’s a support topic, you’re probably better off making a new one since the OP has already solved their issue, and your issue likely has different conditions to it.
