When creating clothes or texturing a mesh, switching the image is very annoying.
You would need to upload it to roblox as a decal or put it in the content folder for rbxasset://.
There are 2 ideas that would be very helpful:
- A button to disable the whitelist, which has to be pressed everytime studio opens (security).
Once it’s pressed (or toggled on?), any url, including C:/stuff can be used for content urls.
It’s also useful for quickly testing images from google (free images sites, I mean). - An option somewhere (button, in Settings, …) to disable the asset cache.
Currently, the “easiest” way to test clothes is putting it in the content folder.
(well, could also upload the decal, poluting the inventory and just being annoying)
Only, once an image is loaded, it is cached, forcing to rename the image when it’s updated.
Actually it should probably be a button “Clear cache”.
Otherwise it would be something like “whenever a new instance uses this content url, clear the cache of it”.
wud be useful, much gud
(Requested out of need since developing with images is a huuuuuuuge pain)
EDIT: WAIT WAT.
Since when does studio reload image assets when they change on the disk?
This is game changing! tnx for whoever added that
(actually since when is this a thing? why wasn’t there a party?)
