WHAT IS THE MECH MAKERS GROUP?:
Mech Makers is a group that is part of the grid of BYM groups. While the Fan Club hosts the community in a general way, this group in particular ranks it’s members based on their building skills.
This thread is made to help the people who don’t quite understand how to get ranked. Not everybody knows how to figure this out on their own, and it is an often asked question in both the BYM Fan Club & in Mech Makers.
[RANKING RULES]:

Build whatever you desire! This game is all about imagination and creativity. However, inappropriate creations will lead to your creation to be declined, and your account banned.

Do NOT send a picture for ranking to multiple Judges. It adds confusion and conflicts. Also, when dissatisfied with a ranking decision from one Judge, do not send it to a different Judge hoping for a better rank. Judges talk and discuss all the time.

Do not follow Judges outside of BYM for a rank, they have lives too.

The rank that a Judge gives you should be exactly what you deserve. Don’t start arguing against them as they likely know more about building and BYM than you do.

Copied creations will not be ranked, for example, YouTube mechs, a mech somebody gave/built to you, or simply ripping off somebody’s mech/creation. (Taking pictures from various angles and then rebuilding from that. Crazy and weird? Yes, people with no dignity like that exist.)

Group builds cannot be ranked.

Creations that are NOT 100% done cannot get ranked, for obvious reasons. Don’t be lazy.

Starter kit mechs will not be ranked.

Except for the “Inventor” rank, judges will take only appearance in consideration, not on special mechanisms and functions.

It IS possible to be “deranked,” either because your builds decrease in quality, or you weren’t ranked appropriately from the start.

Do not ask to be ranked in the BYM Fan Club, building ranks have their home in Mech Makers, and fan ranks are only given to people specifically chosen.

Mess Maker/No Talent: These ranks, despite their not-so-complimentary name, do not necessarily mean their yielders are bad, but instead that they have a building style that deviates from what is considered usual. In all cases, these ranks are considered as jokes.

Lame - Professional: waiting for lush to give info about this

Inventor: This rank is solely given to those who create new, unique mechanism concepts inside BYM. For this rank only the mechanisms are considered.

Master/Best/Legend: This rank is only awardable to those who prove being consistently awesome at building. One creation won’t do the cut.
[TAKING A PICTURE]:

To take a picture of your screen in Roblox, the easiest way is to press the “Print Screen” button, most keyboards is labelled “PrtScr” or something similar. ROBLOX will automatically create a picture file on your computer. It can be found in: YourName > Documents > Pictures > Roblox.

You can also take a picture with any desired screen capturing program.

In your screenshots, try your best to get the best possible picture that captures the majority of the aspects of your mech and make it clear (so no grey mechs inside the grey garages). You may take multiple pictures of your mech as well if you feel that there are more parts to your mech that one image does not capture.

It is also HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that the screenshots (at least one) contain elements that can verify your ownership of the creation (for example, the garage layout, which includes the owner’s username)
[SENDING A PICTURE]:
Now that you have a picture, you need to upload it somewhere so that everyone can see it. If you used a screen capturing program, good. It will automatically upload to the internet and you will be given an easy link to copy & paste to anyone. If you used “PrtScr”, or another method that does not automatically upload the picture to the Internet, you will need to find wherever it is saved, and then upload that to an image sharing site or other social media.
You have many options on where to upload:

You can use Roblox DM’s to get your request sent to the judge. You have to upload your screenshot to Roblox as a Decal, and from there, send the link to the Judge. Please note some Judges don’t check their DM’s. Check their personal blurb for more info.

It is recommended that, in the case you have a Twitter account, to send your judge request trough one of the handles given above. Please include your username in your request.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to some Roblox censoring updates, some links to outside of Roblox are not allowed and will be censored. Preferably, in your PM to any Judge, your links are not censored. THE BEST WAY to contact one of the Judges is to Tweet them via Twitter. Put a link to your image orupload a picture inside your Tweet and send it to one of the Judges.

All judges listed here are active on Roblox at this guide update. You can submit your creations to other judges, but do not expect them to actually rank your creation in time.

AFTER SUBMITTING A PICTURE TO A JUDGE:
Dependent on what Judge you choose to get ranked by, it may take up to a few days before the Judge has the chance to see it. Be patient. When a judge has ranked you, they may or may not respond. Some prefer the element of surprise and some prefer to notify you about your new rank.
[FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS]:
Q1: I can’t PM a judge! Why is this?
A1: If you cannot PM the judge it can be of various reasons, most commonly because your own privacy settings simply doesn’t allow you to. Every judge has an open inbox, but most people has it set to “Friends, Followers, and People I Follow.” In ROBLOX both parties must have an open inbox to be able to PM one another, a lot of people do not know this.
To fix your settings:
1. Press the little cog wheel in the upper right of the screen.
2. Press “Settings”.
3. Press “Privacy”.
4. Set the setting called “Who can message me:” to “All Users”.
5. Press update, when it has updated you can now PM any judge your image.
Alternatively, you can use Twitter to send your judge request. Use the handles available above.
Q2: How do I become a Judge?
A2: There is no special way to become a judge, judges are chosen only when Mech Makers sees the need for another judge. Simply put; you can’t.
Q3: How can I upload my picture as a decal?
A3: To upload your image as decal to ROBLOX, you have to:
1. Press “Develop”
2. Press “Decals”
3. Press “Choose file” and find the desired picture. (ROBLOX screenshots file directory was explained earlier in “TAKING A PICTURE.”
4. Name it whatever you want and then press upload.
5. Copy the link to the decal and PM it to any judge. (Decals takes 2-3 hours to become visible on the website, as they are under review.)
