Cab Simulator Game UI Design

Hello!

This is an update on my game development, I am making a cab simulator, I haven’t decided on a catchy name for it yet though if you got any suggestions for a name, or for the actual game feel free to comment them.

If you want to join the actual game for a more thorough look here is the link: Taxi Simulator | Development - Roblox

( I’m yet to script the “driver balance” section on the profile UI located in the top right, but that will show your money balance when I’ve scripted it.

The twitter code redeem is a bit bland because I designed it outside ROBLOX Studio but then realised I had no idea what to fill all the space with  so any suggestions for that tell me.

I’m also aware that if you exit the profile GUI you cannot reopen it yet but that’s a work in progress.
Ignore the map entirely its just a testing place.

Thanks

Too much in the screen it’s really distracting. Also the way it looks it’s only yellow and not really as detailed. It feels soulless and empty. You should fix it up more.

I’ve only opened them up so that all the UI’s I’ve done would be shown in the screenshot if people couldn’t join the game. I can change up the colors, I don’t really know what you mean by empty if there is too much in the screen though.

The twitter UI could be a lot smaller, there is so much empty space, Also I suggest making the x bigger and moving it to the top right maybe. As I kind of had to look for the x, it didn’t take long, but naturally you would assume the close button is somewhere in the corner.

Thanks for responding, I appreciate the feedback

I’m going to redesign the twitter UI right now, I think I will scrap the idea of the X and make it toggle whenever the twitter icon is pressed.

Yeah, that would be a lot better.

Do you think something like this is better?

Yeah, Sorry for the late reply. This is 100% more pleasing to look at as well.

Alright thank you, I’ll update it now.

Been doing some work on it for some time now:

That’s good, although the text you typed in “YT” is really hard to read.

The UI is amazing and very appealing I think you nailed it 10/10, I love how you contrasted the yellow with orange and didnt just make it yellow, everything looks to be in the correct spot game wise and its great keep up the great work and dont give up you got this

EDIT : Looked on your devforum profile and we have the same name but mine is spelled with a C

I think it looks great!
Just have a few inputs:

  • Use the lighter yellow color to distinguish the sections from each other (see “color” in image)
  • Use black text on light yellow background for clarity. Doesn’t have to be everywhere but the white on yellow is rather straining to read and should be reserved for parts of UI you dont have to constantly read (such as the driver profile).
  • You could use different colors on the speed and gear text. It’d make it pop!

That codes GUI in the middle has been changed to this

I could put black on yellow but it’d mean remaking every single UI, I’ve used white on yellow here because its not a bright yellow its a a dark yellow / orange, but I could perhaps make it a settings so that it offers the player choice what do you think about that?

Thanks! Hopefully the project goes well, and thats cool we got the same name I don’t really meet people with the name Mark or Marc much.

I have a name suggestion; “Catch A Ride”

Hmm

Thanks for the suggestion, I’ll add it to my list of possible names.
